Sugarcane Smile Jul 22, 2013

Sugar cane drinks are specially nice when are thirsty, it helps to quench thirst. However, many stalls actually make their sugar cane drinks too diluted. But this is one of the best sugarcane drinks I can ever find in Singapore! The sugarcane drink was so cooling and refreshing! I added lemon to it, so there is a slight sour taste. The one without lemon will costs $1 and with lemon costs $1.20!

I love the concept of this store. There are free samples for the customers to try on before buying, so that they are allowed to try out on new taste of the bread instead of looking at the name of the bread and imagine how is it going to taste like. well, i try out this oatmeal and raisins bread that i bought! one is only at $0.90 and buy 3 will be $2.50! usually, oatmeal is hard and chewy, but the oatmeal flour was soft and with light oatmeal taste of it! there is also cheese in between the bun, which is another surprise! smile

Klang bak kut teh Smile Jul 22, 2013

Presenting one of the best Singapore Bak Kut Teh! *Tada* The one and only store located at 59 New Upper Changi Road!

The first dish is herbal chicken with real nice soup based. The herb tasted was very strong and sweet. I like the wolf berries they used; juicy and big! The chicken was very tender, but I will prefer it to be boneless! smile

The you tiao was very crispy and I really like it when dipped into the Bak Kut Teh! smile

Here come the main lead! The Bak Kut Teh! Well, initially it looks weird to me, and I wondered what is that whole bunch of vegetable doing there. Usually the normal bak kut teh don't come with this! But it was really nice! The ribs were cooked till soft and it was so easy to separate the meat with the bone by using chopstick. The soup is nice, but I still prefer the herbal chicken more! smile

At Clementi for lunch today and ordered this Roasted Duck Rice. This is one of the best stalls there with awards pasted on the stall and costs $3.50 with the egg added. I had requested a change to white rice. Therefore it taste normal, nothing really special about the rice. The roasted duck is one of the best, it is so soft and chewy, on top of that the skin was very crispy to chew on. I like the egg too.

Mushroom Chicken Claypot Rice at $8.90 without GST and service charges. I really like sauce on the chicken, a little salty and sweet at the same time. There mushroom was soft and easy to chew and you are able to chestnuts in the rice! Well, the chestnut was soft but it tasted weird to me when mixed with the rice. The claypots they used are non-stick ones, thus, there isn't a lot of burnt rice which I think is good as eating burnt rice will cause cancer.
