Basketball Ramen Smile Dec 22, 2011

I love Marutama’s ramen. I went all the way to Clarke quay just to eat this. It was the best ramen I even had. The soup is very very meaty and flavourful. I highly recommend getting the egg too. However, I don’t really think people should eat too much of the egg. The shop is quite nice too. It makes you feel like you are really in a Japanese store eating ramen. The logo looks like a basketball which makes it easy to remember.

Kawaii Usagi OK Dec 22, 2011

I saw these on the Takashimaya brochure and I just had to get them. They are made for the Mooncake Festival and they cost quite a pretty penny. There is like 12 bunnies in the box. Oh my god. They are so cute! They even have a little bunny butt with tail. Look nice, taste not nice. The fillings inside are made with yuzu. The smell of the yuzu is quite strong, although it is very fragrant, and the paste is quite sweet. You have to harden your heart to eat them…..

I love the xiao long bao. The skin of the xiao long bao is just nice. Not too thick and not too thin. It does not break easily. The soup inside is very flavourful and the meat is very succulent. However, I would really recommend eating it hot. After all, a hot bao is always tasty bao. Ha ha...

Tasteless OK Dec 22, 2011

Hmm…. I don’t really like the egg fried rice they sell at this branch. I was quite disappointed because I heard that their fried rice is delicious however.... that was not what I tasted. The fried rice is very plain and everything. However, I think that it is because there were too many people at the time I ordered.

The thing I like about Din Tai Fung was their takeaway box. It is very convenient for people with microwaves and it is recyclable.

Crunchy Crunch Smile Dec 22, 2011

I like to buy the California roll from ishi mura. Last time it was $2.50 per box. Now It’s a little more expensive, $2.70 or $2.90 can’t really remember. There are 8 pieces in a box. I think it is quite worth it. The ingredient they use are also quite fresh. Every time I bite into the California roll, I always get the crunch crunch sound from the cucumber inside.
