Rip and Chicke'n Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : American | Fast Food | Halal

Did not really try the chicken from Popeyes before and we decided to take on the cashier recommendation to get the rip and chicke'n promotion set.

It is actually something like a buddy meal. With 3 piece chicken which is quite big in size, fries, two drinks and a mash potato.

The set came with a special dipper that tastes a little like sour cream?

I'm not sure what the sauce is but it is really nice to have it with the fries and chicken ;D

It is quite salty though, but that helps to spice up the taste of the chicken and fries.

The chicken is simple and plain. It is crispy on the outer and the meat is white and tender.

The taste of the meat is not very strong, a little salty and fragrant.

It goes pretty well with the sauce ;D

Even for the chicken breast meat, it is quite soft and tender too.

As for the fries, really like it a lot as the flavour is rich and tasty ;D

It has the taste of potato and also a nice fragrant taste that penetrates deep within the fries.

Love it a lot ^^

The mash potato is nice too ;D

The gravy isn't simply just gravy but accompanied with other herbs/vegetable ingredients.

It gives a more unique and peppery taste.

The portion is really quite a lot for two girls. We got really full and there are still some leftovers, really worth it for the price of $12.80 a set.

Fried Kway Teow OK Apr 30, 2013

Categories : Singaporean | Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

Ordered a plate of fried kway teow at $3.

The portion was quite a lot. It is affordable and tastes quite nice ;D

With two customers ahead of me, the whole waiting time was around 5minutes.

The service was average and acceptable.

It is placed on the special leaf that make it more fragrant and delicious.

It is not overly cooked and I could taste a bit of the 'fried wok' taste.

The sweet sauce used is just right and is not too sweet or salty.

The amount of ingredients is okay too..and I like the taste of the chewy Taiwan sausage ;D

The plate of fried kway teow is not too dry or oily and the fragrant taste is quite strong.

The kway teow does not stick together and is not too soft.

There are still areas for improvements on the taste though.

Considering the price and place, it is pretty worth it for this plate of fried kway teow.

Fishball Noodles Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

First time trying this noodles store and I ordered the fishball noodles, dried without chilli.

It costs $2.80 and the portion is quite a lot.

It uses mee pok instead of the normal yellow noodles when ordering fishball noodles elsewhere.

It is not too dry and the sauce is a lot.

The noodles are a little sticky though, but it is nice as it is.

The sauce made for the noodles is nice, not too salty and the taste is strong enough ;D

The ingredients is quite a lot too, total of 4 fishballs and quite a generous portion of fish cakes.

It is quite worth it and the noodles are delicious and filling.

The auntie is friendly too lol

New Flavours  Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Bakery

They introduced two new flavours recently – Ham and cheese, and Sausage cheese.

Tried both flavours ;D

Ham & Cheese
I quite like the ham and cheese. The cheese added on top of the ham is more like cream cheese and it goes well with the ham which is not too salty ;D

The bread, as always, is nice and it retains some moisture within so that it is not too dry to the throat.

Sausage Cheese
As for the sausage cheese bun, the sausage is one whole sausage which is really worth it for the price of $0.90.

However I did not quite like the cheese that was added with it. I’m not very sure if its cheese but it has a cheese-like texture, creamy and sticky.

That puts me off a little as it didn’t really suit my taste :x
Nonetheless it is really worth it as compared to the other bakeries.

This bakery is my favourite ever since I first tried it.

No doubt I will always buy from this bakery as they are affordable and have really nice flavours.

Even the basic butter boom that costs merely $0.60 each is really tasty and delicious ^^

Fried Kway Teow Mee OK Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre

Saw this stall that sells fried kway teow at $2 which attracted me with this low price.

There isn’t any customer though. I hesitated a while before placing my order.

The stall is owned by an elderly couple and the lady cooked the fried kway teow on the spot upon ordering.

It took less than 3 minutes and my fried kway teow is ready.

Had to admit I’m quite disappointed when the plate of fried kway teow was presented to me.
It is really a small plate and the presentation of it isn’t very good.

It was lucky I’m not too hungry that day so the small portion fills just right.

The fried kway teow tastes not bad though. Just that the sauce is a little too sweet.

Other than that, the black sauce flavouring is generous and made the fried kway teow tasteful.

The ingredients isn’t a lot, and given the fact that its $2, it is still acceptable.

Not a bad choice if you are not very hungry since it’s only $2 per plate.

There is also the fried hokkien mee at the same price.
