Dinner ;D Smile Apr 30, 2013

We got the discount vouchers and one-for-one vouchers for manhattan fish market ;D
one for one was for the grilled fish and the other baked fish was discounted.

We also added a meal which includes a drink and soup if the day.

Liked the mushroom soup there a lot even though I don't like mushrooms!;D

It is mixed with vegetables and herbs to make it really rich and tasteful.
They are not stingy with the ingredients.

Had tried the grilled fish before and it still taste fresh and nice.(:

The buttered rice is fragrant and appetising, not too oily or bland.

First time trying the baked fish and I really like it quite a lot.

It is marinated and baked with herbs sauce and it is delicious and rich in taste.

The fish is not dry and tastes fresh and tasty ;D

However we felt that the fish are a little too salty.

Other than that we have nothing to pick on this visit.

Service was good and service crews are friendly ;D

Dinner at TCC ;D Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

Second time dining at TCC ;D
We decided to dine at TCC as it’s my mum’s birthday month and we are entitled to 50% off all items as my mum is a TCC member holder.

There was a queue even though we got there quite ate at around 8+.

We waited for a while and got a seat for 4 in around 15minutes.

Service
The service was average. Probably they were too busy with the crowd, it took us quite some time to get the attention for order taking.

The waiters/waitresses are quite friendly and polite.(:

The items are served within 20minutes upon ordering and the waitress do remember what we individually ordered.
The food are served to us respectively without us having to direct it.

There are some mistakes in billing for our table and the one next to us initially.

We have yet to ask for bill but one of the waiters brought the bill to us.
They did make the effort to explain to us and overall the service is good even though there are mistakes.

At least the waiters and waitresses are polite and patient.(:

Food
Items we ordered for that day includes:

Main Course
Pan-seared Chicken Breast w/ Shogayaki Sauce
This is what my dad ordered. Tried a few bites of the chicken meat.

Even though it’s chicken breast, I really like it for that it is tender and pretty smooth to eat.

The taste has also penetrates deeply into the meat and it is tasteful ;D

The sauce complements it and is not too salty or bland.
A dish I would recommend ^^

Mushroom Tortellini Al Arabiatta
I’m one who does not eat mushroom but my mum urged me to give this a try and assure me that there isn’t a strong taste of mushroom.

Tried a little of it and gladly, there really isn’t much taste of mushroom.

Although I would not say that it is completely free of the mushroom taste, the tomato base sauce made the ‘dumpling’ tasty and appetizing.

It is indeed quite a nice dish even for someone like me who doesn’t eat mushroom ;D
The flour is not too thick and the portion is quite filling too, around 8-10 of the ‘dumplings’.

Red-hot Chicken Spaghetti
Tried a mouthful of this spaghetti. It is spicy, but not overly spicy.

The taste is more ordinary for this dish but the standard remains there.

The proportion is well managed that it is not too spicy, salty or bland. Even an ordinary dish can be an enjoyment ;D

Mentaiko Crab Baton Spaghetti
This is what I ordered. The crab is the real crab meat shaped into a crabmeat-like/mentaiko shape.

The crab meat isn’t a lot but it is a satisfying one ;D

The sauce is quite a lot and it has a taste of cheese tasted in the orange sauce.

I’m not sure of the base of the sauce but it is really special that I’ve never tasted before.
It goes really well with the spaghetti and the crab, and the whole dish gave a Japanese feel.

The crab is really fresh. Perhaps I’m not a total seafood lover, the seafood freshness did cause me to be a little resistive of the dish at the end of it.

But it is pretty obvious the standard is above average and it’s definitely worth it for an indulging meal ;D

Sides
Mozza Stick and prawn cheese toast
The mozza stick was a disappointment. I was expecting a melting cheesy stick but the cheese within is more or less hardened and is not really warm when served.

Luckily it came with a warm tomato dip which spiced up the flavours.
It would be nearly perfect if the mozza sticks are served hot and fresh.

The prawn cheese toast is delicious and special ;D

The amount of prawn is just right for each portion and the toast is moderately toasted to give a crispy texture and yet retains slight softness.

Complemented with the cheese and prawn, the bite-size toast is tasty and appetising lol

Desserts
Zestiny
(Lime parfait studded with raspberries and light-as-air lemon meringue)
Puffy Triplets
(Three profiteroles with rich chocolate ice cream atop a fine almond-espresso financier)

The zestiny is a nice combination of sweetness and sourness.
Not too extreme on either. There are real berries topped too ;D

Even if you are really full from the main courses, these desserts are the right choice to satisfy your sweet tooth without stuffing your stomach ;D

The puffy triplets base hints a tinge of espresso and goes well with the chocolate ice cream topped on it.

The macaroon-like biscuits that sandwiched the scoops of ice cream are plain and simple, and it does not complicate the combination.

Each dessert has its own unique attractions.

If I were to choose one out of this two, I would prefer the zestiny as it is really suitable for an after meal indulgence. Sweet and sour at the same time...good for digestion too? ;P

Blue mountain
First time trying blue mountain.

Perhaps because we are not really into coffee, we could not really taste the difference of blue mountain compared to normal kopi o gao>.<

I do felt that it gave a special aftertaste that is slightly icing and relaxing?
Not sure if this is accurate though :x

Considerably great experience at TCC. Nice food, service and ambience ;D

Lunch ;D Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Italian | European | Restaurant | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

It was lunch hour, we waited for around 5 mins to get a table ;D

Was attracted by the lunch promotion going on where pasta starts from $5.90.
However only one type if pasta is at $5.90, the rest were at $8.90, $11.90 etc.

Nonetheless I ordered the carbonara which costs $11.90 and it comes with a soup of the day, which is the mushroom soup.

We have a choice of adding $2.50 for a side and a standard drink, and on top of that, we could also choose to upgrade the drink to a special mocktail drink.

It took less than 10mins before our pastas are served.

The mushroom soup is not bad, creamy and tasteful, and not watery.(:

The pasta was delicious at the first taste, the sauce is really creamy and quite thick, and was generously topped on the spaghetti ;D

The portion of the spaghetti is quite a lot too.

However the creamy sauce made it gelate and we got a little sick of it. Nonetheless I managed to polish the whole bowl ;D

The bacon isn't a lot though, and most of it are the fats part.

It is quite reasonable for carbonara and a soup of the day at around $14 after GST and service charge.

On top of that, with every spending of $50, we get $10 return voucher if we pay by a POSB/DBS card.

We got 4 vouchers, but only one voucher can be used for each bill on the next visit.

Service wise was acceptable and the ambience is not bad.(:

Lunch at Pastamania ;D Smile Apr 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Italian | Pasta | Halal

The main I ordered is the Creamy Chicken Linguine. It costs $9.10 before any charges.
We also ordered the chicken wings and cheese sticks. ;D

Combo
I added on combo B for $4.20 and the items in the combo (drinks and soup of the day) was served immediately at the counter.

They had both flavors, cream of mushroom and minestrone. I took the minestrone as I liked the loads of ingredients in the tomato base soup.

This time the minestrone soup had a lot more ingredients than I expected.

Unlike the previous times I’ve had it at other outlets, this time round the bowl is totally full of ingredients ^^

It tastes as usual, not too sour and the flavor is nice and fresh ;D

Creamy Chicken Linguine
The main pasta is served soon after. It is warm when served and the creamy sauce is a lot.

The linguine pasta is nicely cooked and the amount is acceptable.
The creamy sauce is not too salty and it is not overly creamy, enjoyed it throughout and finished the whole plate lol

The chicken is not a lot but still, it was acceptable and the meat is tender and really soft to eat. It is not too dry either.

Cheese sticks
As always, a must order item whenever I dine at pastamania ;D

Having it while it’s still hot is really delicious and tasty! Completely delectable and irresistible ;P

The outer is crispy and the cheese within melts and flows into your mouth ~

It costs $4.70 for a plate of 6 cheese sticks lol

Chicken wings
First time trying the chicken wings and it is crispy and tasty for the outer.

The meat is quite well flavoured, tender and juicy.

Although the flavor is not very strong and fragrant, it is still quite nice and worth it.

Service
The service wise was average and nothing much to comment on.

Their speed of food preparation is pretty fast and efficient.

A pleasant food experience at pastamania with the delicious items at affordable pricings ;D

Gong Cha Milk Alisan Smile Apr 30, 2013
Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

Tried the Gong Cha Milk Alisan Tea with 30% sugar level and it costs $2.50.

I mixed the Gong Cha Milk cream on top with the alisan tea.

Really like it a lot ;D

The Alisan Tea is fragrant and the tea is strong, but not overly strong.

30% is sufficient as it is already sweetened by the gong cha milk, which brings a slight salty taste to the drink.

It is quite refreshing and nice to have.
They have other tea selections for the gong cha milk such as melon, green tea and black tea.

I got my drinks quite fast even though there is a queue, and their staffs are quite friendly and willing to make recommendations when we couldn’t decide what to have. lol
