As usual, I ordered the minestone soup, but for this time I ordered the taco fish wrap and the ice lemon tea.

The minestrone soup is as always, bowl full of ingredients – macaroni, carrots, vegetables etc.

I just love the rich flavor of the minestrone soup and also the abundant of ingredients.

The minestrone soup is the watery type but the taste is rich and with a strong tomato freshness and sourness. Not too sour though.

The bun to go with the soup is soft and nice too ;D

The taco fish wrap is actually fried fish in a wrap. The wrap is accompanied with lettuce and other vegetables like carrots etc.

The fish is nicely fried and not dry. It is quite tender and the flavor is light and goes pretty well with the wrap.

However, I do not like the coriander wrapped with the taco fish.

Other than that, the ingredients of the wrap are fresh and light. Overall it’s a really healthier meal as they did not use those dressings in the taco fish wrap and the soup tastes like it’s made from real ingredients.

The price is quite affordable and makes the whole meal worth the while ;D

I spent a total of $10.35 after a 10% discount I got from using the ntuc member card. It’s the total price of a regular minestrone soup with a complete set of a wrap and a soft drink.

Service wise is good and satisfactory lol

Delicious Breads ;D Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Bakery

This is one of the new outlets baker talent opened and glad to have it here as we frequent clementi for lunch during working days ;D

However the queue here is forever longer, probably due to the high traffic at clementi.

While queuing for the breads I always hear people whispering and being curious about the long queue, so probably that’s also what attracted people to queue for it, other than the reason of the low price.

One thing I like it here is that because many people buy the bread, they constantly have new and freshly-baked-from-the-oven breads that never fail to tempt me to eat it immediately after buying it.

Like this time, the butter boom and golden sands bun just came out fresh and real hot from the oven. I had to wait for a while since it’s too hot to be packed into the bag.

I bite straight away into my Butter Boom bread and its really piping hot and I had to shift it around my hands due to the heat.

It has a crispy outer layer and after that came the soft and fluffy, puffy bread amidst the rich buttery and sugar-sprinkled flavor.

It is super delicious and the fragrant keeps tempting me to have another one xD

The texture of the bread is smooth and nice and does not feel dry to the throat.

I even gave my colleagues who rarely eat breads and I totally managed to convince them that the buns from baker talent are really tasty and delicious after they try a few bite.

It’s simply irresistible ;D

Sometimes while queuing for it, I do get a little afraid some buns would be unavailable but so far the experiences I got from this outlet is great, even if the bread I want is not place on the shelf, they would always say the bread is ready from the oven when I requested for that particular flavor.

However, one minus point would be that the butter boom from this outlet seems to have lesser butter. Unlike the butter boom I got from the serangoon outlet, I had to take a few more bites in before I taste a strong taste of butter.

Nonetheless, it’s still fantastic! Even though I’ve been having breads from baker talent for many days’ morning as breakfast, I still look forward to having it and am not sick of it.

And yes, it still tastes good even though I left it overnight till the next morning ;D

Grilled Chicken Ramen Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Kids-Friendly

This is the only soup item they have other than the beef ramen.

This grilled chicken ramen is $5.30 after 10% discount from the ntuc member card.

It’s ala carte, where the price is only inclusive of the ramen, without any sides or drinks to go with.

The wait for the ramen was around 5-7minutes.

It was at the right temperature, slightly at a temperature above being warm.

The presentation of the ramen this time is a little disappointing. It does not look quite appetizing when I just got it. The taste of it is nice though ;D The ramen is cooked to the right texture, not too soft and is a little chewy. The soup base is rich and tasty, with a little terriyaki flavor. The grilled chicken is tender and has a nice marinated grilled flavor. It is a little crispy at the sides. The overall taste is nice and is quite worth it for the price of $5.30.

Plain Rosti ;D Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Café | Kids-Friendly

I wasn’t really hungry that day so I simply ordered a plain rosti and a cup of warm water.

Each cup of warm water they served is $0.50, refillable. The plain rosti is $6.80.

I was a little disappointed with the rosti as it was obviously a little burnt where the surface is black.

It still tasted delicious though, just that the burnt portion made it a little bitter and unappealing.

The always had it plain without the sour cream provided. It is fragrant and is a little crispy, with the original potato taste.

It tastes a little like potato chips and has the baked potato texture. The rosti is not completely soft and is nicely cooked to retain the crunchiness.

It’s a little oily though, but overall it is a filling and delectable snack.

The service is a little slow but on the whole, it is still satisfactory based on the service attitude.

The setup and ambience is not bad too, quite spacious and adapts the open concept restaurant.

The pricing of the items may be a little high but it is generally quite worth it since the food is nice and of good standards.

Mini Matcha Mochi ;D Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Japanese | Bakery

My sis bought this home for us to try and I tried the matcha one.

It is in small bite size and packed in simple paper bag.

It was my first time having it and has never heard before of this shop. The first try was not disappointing ;D

It is small and really convenient to have as a snack while doing something else, and it does not dirty my hands.

It is really chewy like the texture of mochi, just that it is harder and a little crispy on the outer.

The matcha taste is not too strong and it is not too sweet. It has the original matcha green tea taste of slight bitterness and there are also small bits of red beans within the mochi.

It tastes quite plain though, but the light taste makes it a great snack and dessert to have, and seems healthier too ;D

I would probably buy it the next time as a small snack when I’m craving for something. I also heard that there are other flavours available too, so I’ll probably try them all sometime soon.

The price of one mochi is around $0.50-$0.70. It’s either by weight or by number of pieces.
