Seafood Yee Mee ;D Smile May 30, 2013
Categories : Thai | Fusion | Restaurant

First time trying this restaurant near our work place and my colleague recommended it for the affordable pricing for zi char.

We ordered individually that day and I decided to have the seafood yee mee which costs $4.20.

The food was served in 3-5 minutes upon ordering and the portion looks filling.

The sauce is quite a lot and is neither too salty nor bland.

There is the seafood freshness within and the ingredients given are acceptable.

The noodles may be a little overcooked and too soft but it still taste quite delicious.

It has the home cooked taste and it’s quite a pleasure dining at this simple zi char restaurant.

The lady boss service is nice and welcoming to customers too.

It was a pleasant and nice meal at Lago Kitchen Restaurant. We would definitely be back for more ;D

They also provide delivery service which would great for dinner while working overtime lol

Bought the minestrone soup with a complete set of smoked ham and cheese sandwich and ice lemon tea ! ;D

Spotted a notice that’s says privileges for ntuc member and I got 10 % discount for presenting my nebo card.
Total its $10.35 and its really fulfilling and worth it.

The minestrone soup is meatless, just full of vegetables and what I love about it is also that it comes with macaroni.

They are not stingy with the ingredients in the soup. Every spoon of it there is definitely macaroni or vegetables.

The soup is thick and full of strong tomato flavor, and a little freshly sour. When served it is hot and taste really delicious ;D

All the soup comes with a bun too. Its soft and we ate it by dipping it into the soup ^^

The sandwich came slightly later after around 3-5 minutes later. The ingredient is quite a lot and matches well together.

The vegetables are also fresh and not bitter at all lol

There isn’t much sauce and hence it is quite healthy. It is considerably a healthier restaurant meal and I really love it.

Overall portion is really fulfilling and makes me really full. The price is also pretty affordable and definitely worth it ;D

Service of the cashier is good too, patient and polite towards customer. It is a pleasant dining experience at The Soup Spoon. ;D

流沙 bread Cry May 30, 2013
Categories : Bakery | Brunch

Firsh time trying the golden sands(流沙) bun from Barcook Bakery.

The looks of this bun looks different from the golden sands bun I had before from other bakeries.

It is made of the salty egg yolk with custard and butter sauce, and for this one it looks whiter and creamier.

The golden sands paste is super creamy and it tastes weird. It also doesn’t really go well with the bun and I gave up eating it after a few bite.

It’s quite a disappointment, will definitely not buy it again.

Fish Porridge OK May 30, 2013
Categories : Hainanese | Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

They have two types of fish porridge, where one is the cooked porridge type and the other is the rice in fish soup type.

The price difference is $0.50, $3 for the fish porridge and $3.50 for the fish soup porridge.

I got the cooked fish porridge for $3.

The queue isn’t long and we got our porridge within 5 minutes.

The porridge tastes a little fishy but I still liked the tender sliced fish. It is plain and light, where the flavor of the porridge is not strong.
It is a little bland though, the fragrant taste is not enough and it is quite watery.

The sesame oil fragrant taste is missing too.

Overall it is still acceptable, but it is not that worth the price afterall. I would consider other stalls first the next time.

Chocolate Fudge Hot Cake Cry May 30, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Ice Cream and Gelato | Burgers and Sandwiches | Kids-Friendly

The new hot fudge pancake is out for quite some time and had always wanted to give it a try.

It costs the same as the normal hotcakes set but I only realized this hot fudge pancake set does not come with the harshbrown.

Initially I thought it was reasonable for an exchange between the hot chocolate fudge and the harshbrown.

However after I tried the taste I regretted getting the hot fudge pancake.

The chocolate was placed in a small plastic container and I spread it onto the pancake with the maple syrup.

The hot fudge sauce is sweet and the chocolate taste is not strong.

It does not really goes well with the pancake and I got sick of having it after a while so I gave up on having the hot fudge and just focused on having the hot cakes with the maple syrup.

The hot fudge was totally a waste and I had to force myself to have it so as not to waste it.

I would totally prefer a harshbrown over the hot fudge.
