oreo ice blended Cry Aug 20, 2011

Categories : Taiwanese | Bubble Tea/ Tea

I was thirsty and decided to get a cup of drink from Sweet Talk. As I do not really like the texture of Sweet Talk's tapicoa pearls, I went for something without pearls, which is this oreo ice blended drink. The drink is reallly sweet, in fact, too sweet to consume the whole cup by yourself without feeling sick to the stomach. I only managed to drink half of it before I threw the rest away. It is a pity because I used to order this and it didn't taste so cloyingly sweet last time.

Ginger Beef with rice OK Aug 19, 2011
Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Food Court | Zi Char

The Ginger Beef with rice is the one dish I always liked to order when my classes are near FC 4. I like the how the stir fried beef isn't too hard and is flavoured just right. However, the only thing I dislike is that the ingredients are far too little - most of the heap of ingredients are spring onions, onions and very little beef. I would rather they increase the price than to scrimp on the beef.

mango sago OK Aug 13, 2011
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

Like many of the reviewers, I tried the Mango sago & pomelo dessert. At $5.50, I expected more from this dessert since it is pricer than the mango sago dessert sold at other dessert stalls. For this price, I think they can definitely be more generous with the mango and pomelo. But tastewise, I would think it is one of the better mango sago desserts around. It is not overly sweet which is good since the mango itself is already sweet.

Spending per head: Approximately $5.50

red bean bun OK Aug 13, 2011
Categories : Japanese | Bakery

I got this red bean bread from green pumpkin. This red bean filling is unlike those smooth red bean paste that you have in the paus and most breads. Instead, there are still some small chunks of red bead. I like the smooth red bean, so this version of red bean filling isn't which is the way I like my red bean filling to be. However, it is still tasty because of the bread which is very soft and has a very nice fragrance.

Rice with egg tofu, hairy gourd and black pepper chicken

Rice with egg tofu, hairy gourd and black pepper chicken

I frequent this stall quite often as I will come by here once in a while. Their dishes are normally the same everyday, but what lacks in quantity is made up for with the quality. I ordered the chicken, egg tofu and hairy gourd for my lunch. The hairy gourd is my favourite dish from their stall as it is not too soft and the gourd retains some of its crunch. The part of the chicken used for the black pepper chicken is the chicken thigh which made the chicken meat really tender and delicious. The black pepper seasoning is not too spicy too and it enhanced the flavour of the dish well. The egg tofu is also soft and delicious. I can never get tired of having my meals from this stall as their dishes are generally tasty.
