Only the wanton is nice Cry Mar 08, 2011

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Roasted Meat

This is my very first time and also my very lst time buying noodles from this stall. The noodles has a veyr strong taste of the "gan" taste. It tasted bitter. Even with the sauce, the bitter taste cannot be masked. The char siew is very dry. The texture of the noodles is also very dry. The only good thing is that the wantons are nice as the meat has been well seasoned and was very tender. That is the only thing I like.

Not to my liking at all Cry Mar 04, 2011

I decided to go for vegetarian food for lunch. And I regretted it because the food is not to my liking at all. I had ordered the fried mee hoon with pumpkin and one other vegetable dish. The mee hoon tasteed ordinary, just like any other mee hoon I can get elsewhere. As for the pumpkin, it was too sweet and it was so mashed up that I seemed to be eating pumpkin mash instead. It was cooked way to soft. I gave up after making myself finish half the plate.

Not so good service attitude Cry Mar 01, 2011

For me, it was my very first time patronising this outlet at Junction 8 although it has been there for so long. The service was so so and the food standard was also so so only. It took quite a while before the service staff showed us to our seats although there was no queue. After we made our order, it took nearly 30 mins before our food arrived when the restaurant was not crowded at all. So disappointed. My order of fish n chips was quite oily. Maybe this was my very first time and also my very last time patronising this restaurant.

This is one of the worst double boiled soup that I have even tried. I had ordered the double boiled lotus soup. At it costs $2.60 and the take away container costs $0.20. Rice another $0.50. The lotus soup did not have the lotus taste at all. All I can say is that the soup is slighty salty and sweet at the same time. Not worth the money at all. The lotus slices were still quite hard. The only best part of the soup were the pork ribs, still nice and tender but very small pieces with little meat. No standard.

Will never patronize again Cry Dec 27, 2010

This is the first time and also the last time I will patronzie this outlet of Old Town. We went there for dinner and it was not too crowded.

We got a seat quickly and we placed order. The waitress just took the slip away without checking the order with us. However, due to an overslight, I ordered an extra pepsi. When I realised it when the waitress pased back the order slip to our table, I asked her whether can cancel the pepsi order but she said no because order has been keyed in. Since it was partly our fault, we accepted that. However, I believed this mistake will be picked up if the waitress had reviewed our order at our table with us. And the irony was that the cup of pepsi was the last item to be served, after our main food items were already served. huffy Very bad service or no service at all.

I had the signature dish - Ipon Chicken Hor Fun. As you can see from the photo, it was quite oily with only a few tiny slices of chicken meat and two small prawns and a few stalks of veggie. The stock was also very salty. So disappointed. And it costs $6.20.

For drinks, I had the lemon tea hot. Oh my, it was terrible. It did not look like lemon tea at all as it was a bit milky. Taste wise, so bad that I have to add three to four teaspoons of sugar and it still do not taste sweet.

This was the worst meal of my life. Sob Sob. Really spoilt my Christmas Day. I would patronize other outlets like the one in east coast which have very good service.
