Salmon Alfredo  Smile Sep 23, 2011
Categories : Italian | Pasta

Tried their lunch set which is quite worth it; $9.90 for 1 main course, 1 drink and soup. Was a little disappointed when the soup served was just Campbell with a garlic bread the size of half a piece of gardenia bread. However, the Salmon Alfredo (+$1 on top of the usual $9.90) saved the day. The pieces of salmon were rather tender and the alfredo sauce was not too overwhelming. One interesting thing to note is that their Sprite is sweeter than usual, which I really like heh.

Spending per head: Approximately $10.90

Better than Subway  Smile Sep 23, 2011

Never really took note of this whenever I walk around 313, believe most people too since the common highlight is Gongcha at B1. Stumbled upon a Quiznos Sub commercial on youtube as I was searching for videos featuring Jim Parsons and was surprised that there's a branch here in Singapore. Decided to try it and instant reaction was yay, finally something better than Subway. The bread is well-toasted and the chicken is fairly tender, just nice for a sub. The honey bourbon mustard sauce is sweet and goes well with the others. There are cookies available too, look not bad so maybe you guys can give it a try as well~ ( PS. There are plugs there! )

Recommended Dish(es):  Honey Bourbon Chicken

Spending per head: Approximately $6.50(Tea)

I eat this whenever I feel like doing so - thrice a week? Cause I stay less than 1 minute's walk away wahaha. The queue is really horribly long during lunch time, thankfully my Mum's been a recognised regular, thus I'm able to skip the queue as well. I've never liked vinegar, until I ate this Bak Chor Mee. The boss is friendly, and he gets increasingly generous with his ingredients as you frequent regularly. I like the pig liver too as it's softer than usual, complimenting the unique taste brought forward by the adding of vinegar. The best has got to be the soup. It is amazingly sweet and flavourful! The boss revealed to my mum that he uses 'dua tao gut' to boil it. ( sorry I don't know the English translation. ) Anyhow, this is probably the most unique Bak Chor Mee you can find in Singapore!

Went 15 Minutes with a friend after walking around Sim Lim Square which is nearby, and he recommended this dish ( Mushroom ham pink sauce with spaghetti ). Initially I was kind of hesitant to order it as pink sauce sounded a little artificial to me and if you think so too, fret not, it is just a mixture of creamy and tomato sauces. And indeed, it is a special dish - and nice! It is easy to get tired of creamy sauces towards the end of the meal but the tomato sauce aided me to finish the dish in delight. They can improve by adding more ingredients though haha. So if you happen to roam around Bugis, do check this out!

Having a sweet tooth, ice cream is a must as dessert on hot days. A friend - strongly - encouraged me to go to Udders and my first reaction was: 'Come on, have you tried Tom's Palette?' She said yes, and said Udders is on par. I was kind of skeptical, but was proven wrong the moment I tried their Mao Shan Wang. It was absolutely rich - so rich in flavour that I couldn't really taste the accompanying chocolate after having the first spoonful of it. It really felt as though I was having the real Mao Shan Wang, and I'd recommend this to all durian lovers; you won't be disappointed!
