Zichar at Ghim Moh Cry Mar 26, 2012

Categories : Coffeeshop | Seafood | Zi Char

Master Crab Seafood Restaurant is located near Ghim Moh market, further down from 7 Eleven. It specializes in crab dishes, however, as they go by the kg and price is not stated in the menu, be very careful to ask about the cost before ordering or you could end up footing a humongous bill.

It was an unpleasant experience eating here. The service was terrible. Every single server who came to take the order/ serve the dishes wore a pissed off expression. When we asked what vegetables were available, the waitress sighed and gave us a long suffering look. When we asked for chopsticks we were told we already had fork and spoons. When we asked for an extra bowl of rice, we were given dirty looks. When we asked for the bill, we waited so long we had to go to the counter and pay ourselves. Another patron nearby was asked to sit near the rain because they only had 4 people thus were not allowed to sit inside where the tables were bigger. At the end of the dinner we were all so upset.

We ordered a fried fish which cost $16 and was only nice when it was hot. By mid meal the fishy taste was overpowering. Also there were very few pieces of fish.
Bad!

Bad!

We also ordered the thai sauce chicken which liked. It was crispy and had very little fat. HOwever the sauve was a bit too sweet for my liking.

The vegetables were hard and the beancurd tasteless though.

Overall i would not reccommend this restaurant to anybody.

Angry Mango burger at Nando's Cry Mar 22, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Portuguese | Steaks and Grills

We visited Nando’s at Bugis Junction on a weekday night for dinner. This outlet is rather crowded so always book in advance for larger groups. They will normally allow you to hold the table for some time if you have at least half the group there (which was what happened to us).

I ordered an Angry Mango Burger. The burger is basically a bun with a slice of grilled chicken in it, served with diced mango. It also comes with 1 side which I choose peri peri chips of mild peri peri flavor (ie. The lowest level of spiciness). I found the burger disappointing because the buns were soggy from the sauce and the mango. And the grilled chicken breast was in need to A LOT more seasoning.

Caesars Wine and Oyster Bar Cry Sep 21, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Bars/Lounges

The first thing about Caesars is you have to know that though the name of the place is Caesars Wine and Oyster bar, they DO NOT serve oysters. Which is quite dumb. It is visited mostly by men, probably due to the skimpily dressed waitresses? When I stepped into Caesars, I found the place populated by men taking advantage of the 1 for 1 Tiger Beer promotion they had on. In my opinion, there is really nothing attractive about this place other than that 1 for 1 deal. It does have a pool table which I suppose is their idea of entertainment, but the TV reception isn’t always good and the bartender provides bad service and isn’t very professional either.

Adam Road prawn mee Cry Sep 18, 2011
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

Despite the hype about how big their prawns were and how nice their prawn mee was, i found nothing particularly worth praising. The prawns, though big, were not very fresh. The soup just didn't taste right - maybe im too used to the normal prawn mee soup where it is more watery? For the $8/$10 per bowl that it costs, this is definitely not worth the price in my opinion. You can order 2 nasi lemak from the famous Adam Road nasi lemak with that money, its a much smarter way of spending your money!

Dessert @ Ah Chew Cry Sep 16, 2011
Categories : Chinese Desserts | Desserts and Cakes

After dinner nearby, my family and i decided to try out Ah Chew's desserts because the exterior of the shop looked inviting, moreover, it was rather packed inside. We ordered a total of 5 types of dessert: Almond paste, sesame seed paste, ginger beancurd, peanut paste and papaya in freshmilk. The almond paste's taste was a little too strong for my liking but i guess its an acquired taste. Both the sesame seed and peanut paste were far too watery, i could hardly taste the sesame or peanut and the viscosity of the 'paste' was more water than paste! The ginger beancurd is definitely not for those who aren't fans of (1) Ginger (2) Spice (3) Strong smells. Papaya in freshmilk was also a failure, the papaya did not taste nice in freshmilk at all because the strong taste of freshmilk overpowered the papaya and the result was a very odd match. They should have stuck to coconut milk.
Overall taste wise it was very disappointing.
