Dim Sum Kopitiam Smile Jan 30, 2012
Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Food Court | Dim Sum

The Dim Sum here is really nice and afforable and freshly steamed on the spot upon order therefore we have to wait about 10 mintues but the wait is worth it as the har kows are nicely steam and not soggy like those oversteamed.

Tthe har kow which comes in a bamboo container and 3 pieces at $2.40.The har kow skin is wrapped just nice, not too thick or thin and inside is a big prawn and very fresh, very generous as we seldom find such big fresh prawn in a kopitiam selling dim sum at such afforable price and the chilli sauce served here goes very well with Dim sum.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.40

Vegetarian Smile Jan 27, 2012

The stall sells couple of dishes just like in a economical rice stall but they are vegetarian.

I especially like this mushroom dish, very tender and the black mushrooms are cooked till the delicious sauces are completely absorbed into every piece of mushroom and it's not oily at all.

The bee hoon however is a bit tasteless for my taste buds but i always order the mushroom with the bee hoon and it goes very well too with the crunchy green chillies.

Spending per head: Approximately $2.20

Polar Puffs & cakes Smile Jan 27, 2012

As the shop's name suggested Polar Puffs & Cakes, they sold very good puffs and cakes here.Equally good is the egg tarts.

I love the curry puffs and mushrooms puffs as the fillings are generous and the puffs are fluffy and melt in your mouth.

The cakes are good and my daughter loves the design with the angry bird as she enjoys licking the different parts of the cake.

The egg tarts are generous in the fillings too as it's oval in shape and not too sweet and the pastry is delicious too.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.50

Seoul Garden OK Jan 27, 2012

At $28.25nett, the barbeque and streamboat buffet is so so as the spread is not that fantastic.

At entrance you can find the meat section like beef and chicken,1 type of fish fillet, 1 type of prawn and mussel.
Next to the meat display section is the yong tau foo and vegetables, noodles, sauces.
Next is the fried items, hot drinks, ice creams and desserts.

Overall i would say it's so so but for the same buffet spread, i can find many other shops offering much cheaper price.

ice kajang OK Jan 27, 2012

The stall is manned by very friendly aunties as its my first time there and she asked me whether i want my ice kajang less sweet

The ice kajang here consists of the normal ingredients like red beans, glass jelly, atap seeds etc...and the sweet syrups but what makes a nice ice kajang is maybe the sweet syrups and the condensed milk mixed well which i cant find the right combination in the ice kajang here therefore to me the ice kajang is so so.

However, the green beans soup as according to my mum's taste is nice, not too sweet.

Spending per head: Approximately $1.50
