Polar Puffs & cakes Smile Jan 27, 2012

As the shop's name suggested Polar Puffs & Cakes, they sold very good puffs and cakes here.Equally good is the egg tarts.

I love the curry puffs and mushrooms puffs as the fillings are generous and the puffs are fluffy and melt in your mouth.

The cakes are good and my daughter loves the design with the angry bird as she enjoys licking the different parts of the cake.

The egg tarts are generous in the fillings too as it's oval in shape and not too sweet and the pastry is delicious too.

Spending per head: Approximately $3.50

This cafe serves many delicious freshly made soups, sandwiches, cakes ,muffins and salads.

I especially like their prawn and bacon paste in well toasted pumkin bread top with lettures and tomatoes.

At $7.80 for the meal but add $2.20 to make it $10, we get a set which consists of any selection of their soups.

Today i paid $10 for the sandwich and soup set and my selection for the soup was wild mushrooms which were very deliciously blended with a few types of fresh wild mushrooms.

Heard about this restaurant but didnt have the chance to come across one till now.

Besides the many nice dishes Secret Recipes serve,i love the chicken curry served with plain roti pratas and i simply cant have enough of it as i finished up the whole claypot of curry.

The chicken curry are served with chicken drumsticks and potatoes cooked till very tender that they can melt in your mouth.
The plain pratas are served cutted into small pieces and are very good for dripping into the curry.

rojak Smile Jan 26, 2012

One of the best rojak and friendly stall owner.

The yu cha kwey and tau pok are grilled to so crisspy and crunchy and the sauces are very tasty too.

At $3 a packet, the portion is very generous too for grilled rojak and at $2.50, you can also get a generous packet of stirred rojak with lots of peanuts spread on top.

Equally important is the sauce and i think this stall serve the best mixture of rojak sauce which make her rojak very nice.

Very traditional setting and seatings in wooden tone from decoration to tables and seats.Had the sabu sabu set at a promotion at $32++ as the usual price would cost $64++ for the same set, sounds costly but really value for money as we get 4 different premium cuts of wagyu beef/black pig sabu sabu and accompanying homemade ponzu and goma sauces which are really heavenly. The dobinmushi which is seafood soup served in a small kettle pot is also my favourite too and squeezing the lime into the soup made it so full of lime fragrance. The same set we can also have it in sukiyaki.

Spending per head: Approximately $38(Lunch)
