Swensen Cry Jan 26, 2012

The mushroom and salmon rice looks delicious on their menu's picture as well as the actual plate but the salmon they use is not fresh but rather it think it's smoke salmon (hope i'm right) as it's very salty.

Rice is okay with sauce and cheese grilled but the thin slices of shitake mushrooms are tasteless and the salmon too much salty.Overall, i would not order this dish again whenever i go Swensen.

Restaurant was crowded and service quite fast even billing we dont have to wait too long.

Ichiban Sushi OK Jan 26, 2012

The menu stated premium edamame and at $3.90 i think it's reasonable to try as i was not convinced it's from Japan as it would have cost more.

Nevertheless it did not disappoint me as it came with stalks which we don't find in frozen package from NTUC.

It's served either cold or hot and i asked for the hot version but found some pieces still cold so it's not well covered in hot water and it told me they took it out from the freezer

This stall sells both white and black fried carrot cakes at eithet $2 or $3 and chwee kueh at $1.10 for 5 which is consider very cheap and the stall is full of newspaper clipping and media coverage about it's popularity and of course there's always a queue at this stall especially in the mornings. The man who fries the carrot cake seems to be a pro in this trade as every turn of the carrot cakes whether the order is for white or black frying is very precise and the pieces are turned very fast and just burned which give the carrots cakes a nice fragrance. The old lady in charge of the chwee kueh as well as wrapping the carrots cake is also very busy non stop and the chwee kueh is equally delicious as the toppings are very fragrant.

Very traditional setting and seatings in wooden tone from decoration to tables and seats.Had the sabu sabu set at a promotion at $32++ as the usual price would cost $64++ for the same set, sounds costly but really value for money as we get 4 different premium cuts of wagyu beef/black pig sabu sabu and accompanying homemade ponzu and goma sauces which are really heavenly. The dobinmushi which is seafood soup served in a small kettle pot is also my favourite too and squeezing the lime into the soup made it so full of lime fragrance. The same set we can also have it in sukiyaki.

Spending per head: Approximately $38(Lunch)

Whenever we are in Liang Court whether by myself or with my daughter,we will always drop by to buy our favourite chocolates from this stall and we always convinced ourselfs to buy the extra for next craving but always ended up finishing same day or at times even before we reaches home as each bite is so addictive. Our favourites are the almond coated chocolate, cocao chocolate, orange chocolate and dark chocolate. Each piece comes in a small square piece and for 50 gramms for $6.50, it's about 4 pieces only!

Spending per head: Approximately $6.50(Other)
