Below average Cry Mar 01, 2014

You can get a set meal at $22++, which consists of a salad, soup of the day, main course, desserts and a cup of tea/ coffee. Sounds like a big bargain seeing the amount of food that you'll be getting. However, the food quality is kind of below average, not to mention about the service.

For salad, the dressing is overwhelmed! Too much and too rich in taste. I can't taste the freshness of the greens. The deep-fried bread slice on top is just way too oily.

Soup of the day is mushroom soup, made from soup powder, and served with a bread roll that's being microwaved. Too 'elastic' to be chewed off. Main course wise, seafood pasta tastes descent though the presentation could be slightly better.

Chicken chop is Ok. Served with crispy hash brown, this is properly the best dish of the night. However, the side dish (salad with too much dressing) is a spoilt.

Dessert is replaced by fruit plate. And served with the bitter tea/ coffee. Not pleased.

Forgetful staff Cry Dec 15, 2012

Categories : Seafood

We went to Paradise Inn for simple dinner, where we ordered a pot of soup and two dishes. Sea whelk with pork ribs soup ($17.90) has a rich flavour, taste good at first, but later on I find it pretty salty. The ingredients are not too much either.

Tofu with golden mushroom ($10.90) is nice. The tofu is silkly smooth, with egg flavour in it. The minced meat is cooked in oyster sauce gravy. Quite tasty. The steamed rice costs $0.80/each.

When we nearly finish both soup and tofu, our sweet and sour pork is not served yet. Apparently the staff forgot to place the order at all. Reluctant to wait anymore, we decided to finish the rice with just the tofu gravy. Not a pleasant experience!

Disappointed Cry Sep 04, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Sushi/Sashimi | Kids-Friendly

This Sakae Sushi outlet at Raffles Place is relatively small, and pretty obvious that they are short of staffs, leading to long wait and bad service. Anyway, I had the Wakame sumi udon ($9.99), which is the seaweed charcoal udon served in clear soup. The flavour is quite bland that I regret ordering it.

We also ordered the Katsu curry rice ($12.99). The chicken cutlet is deep-fried till very crispy, then topped with curry sauce, potatoes and carrots. It actually tastes Ok but would be better if the texture of the meat is more tender.

Yong tau foo Cry Aug 23, 2012
Categories : Hawker Centre

Perhaps I went to the stall pretty late in the evening, that not many yong tou fu ingredients left to choose. But overall speaking, it's still quite alright. I did not order any noodles, but just have the yong tou fu in clear soup. The service is not too good because the aunty sort of showing temper to another customer, while asking me to get a seat. When the food is served, the yong tou fu are being cut into tiny pieces (too tiny I would say), and I reckon the soup doesn't taste as good as other places.

Categories : Steamboat/Hot Pot

BeiShanChuan spicy steamboat restaurant located just next to the habour at Vivo City, hence you could get a nice view when eating. However, I reckon the service here is pretty bad. The staffs are not too attentive, with attitude problem too. Anyway, the food is so so too. Upon seated, you get to choose two soup base for the steamboat.

All the uncooked food for steamboat are displayed nicely in categories. There are quite a few types of vegetables and noodles.
