Went to Yoshinoya at Causeway Point to have lunch with my friend, and both of us ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl. My Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl set came with a lemon tea drink and an extra cupful of teriyaki sauce (which I requested). The chicken was soft and tender, easy to chew. There were alot of vegetables this time, usually when I go, there is only a small portion of veggies provided. This time, almost half of my bowl was covered with veggies, which include long beans, cabbage, broccoli and carrots etc. They were steamed I think, as it was not oily, and is also soft to my liking. The rice was nice, but even nicer after I poured the teriyaki sauce over it. The saltiness of the sauce goes well with the rice, and I could just eat the rice alone with the sauce after I finished all my chicken and veggies. A staff who served us at the cashier came to our table when we were eating, and presented us with a card to write our experience. As he was very polite and friendly just now when we placed our orders, we wrote down about his good service attitude. Overall, a simple satisfying lunch we both had. Fuss-free and reasonably-priced Japanese food. Recommended Dish(es):

It was dinnertime and I was out with my friend at Vivocity, so we decided to drop by The Asian Kitchen for dinner since we were alrdy both hungry. It was still early, about 6pm, so there wasnt a queue or crowd when we reached there. We were given a menu to share and after some time, I decided to go for what I liked best frm this place, a plate of simple fried rice. My fren wanted someting spicy, and as the soft shell crab la mian was the only thing listed on the menu as spicy, he decided to go with that. The time for the food to come was pretty slow, about 20minutes, although there wasnt alot of ppl in the restaurant. My fried rice came 1st, and it smelt really nice. Smoke could be seen rising frm the plate of rice too. Waited quite a while longer before my fren's noodles came (may b becos the noodles were hand-made and made immediately after order, which is why the long wait). Tried his noodles and they were really springy. The soup base was not spicy as advertised though, it was very sour. (Tom Yam) I also pinched a little of his soft shell crab, but they were abit soggy after being soaked in the soup, but were still to my liking as I love soft shell crab. For my fried rice, it had alot of luncheon meat all over, eggs, and mixed vegetables commonly found in fried rice. I took out the carrots, which I alwys do as I didnt like the carrots frm mixed veg (they were hard). The luncheon meat, when eaten tgt with the rice, was simply very nice. It was a simple yet able to satisfy me food. There were so many cubes of luncheon meat that even after I finished my fried rice, there were still some leftover. Haha. Overall, nice yet simple dinner I had, but a very satisfying one indeed. Other Ratings:Taste 4 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Clean 3 | Price 3 Recommend 0 |
Hor Fun is one of my favourite food, so I would eat it whenever I had the chance or feels like eating it. It's pretty unhealthy, but most unhealthy food are the nicest too! This Hor Fun I got was frm the neighbourhood coffeeshop below my block. The stall that sells it was a Zi Char stall, so it only opens ard 5pm, when it serves the evening crowd dinner (used to open in the afternoon too, but now it opens during the night only). The Hor Fun was a reasonable pricing of $3.50, and came with a substantial amount of veggies (spinach if Im not wrong), 2 prawns, sliced fishcakes, sliced meat and egg. Hor Fun Noodles The noodles were those you normally find in fishball kuay teow soup, except that they were fatter. Texture wise, they were smooth and soft enough for 1 bite and you could cut the noodles into half. The noodles were also not very long, which made it easier to eat since I could scoop them into my spoon. IngredientsThe spinach was a mixture of leaves and stalks. Both were soft, even the stalks, and me, who doesnt usually eat veggie's stalks, ate the stalks too. The meat was also very soft, easy to chew and swallow. Think they put cornflour to soften it before cooking. There were alot of fishcakes given, all big pieces. So much that almost every mouth I could have half a fishcake to go with the noodles. The prawns are easy to eat, the head and shell were alrdy removed, except the tail end. They were fresh too. The eggs were mixed into the hor fun, and it just made the whole hor fun nicer! (I love eggs ) Overall, a very worth and satisfying meal I had. The taste was pretty good and to my liking too, will continue to buy it. This coffeeshop was just beside my block, so I often takeaway my food frm here whenever my mum was not home to cook. This time round, I felt like having chicken rice, and it was just nice that my mum did not intend to cook, so decided to go ahead and purchase a packet of chicken rice to have for my lunch. The coffeeshop was quiet for a weekend afternoon, and there was no queue at the stall. Got my pack of roasted chicken rice for $2.50, which is the standard price for chicken rice nowadays. Presentation: Chicken was arranged nicely in a row on top of the rice, with tomatoes and some cucumbers at the side of the box. Taste / Aroma / Texture: The smell of the rice and chicken came out once I opened the packet box when I got home. The rice was not to hard or soft, cooked to just the right texture. It was flavourful too. It wasnt too hot, warm enough. The chicken was cold, but luckily when ate with the warm rice, it was acceptable. It was really soft and tender though, and the skin was nice too. For the tomato, it looked fresh, but I didnt eat it as I didnt like tomatoes. However, I ate the cucumbers. They were really crunchy and fresh, I could hear the 'crunch' sound when I bite it. Finished them even before I ate half of my chicken rice. Overall, a really satisfied lunch I had. Spending per head: Approximately $2.50(Lunch) Other Ratings:Taste 3 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Clean 3 | Price 3Recommend 0 |
I've not tried all the KFC breakfast sets before, and so when my mum asked what breakfast I wanted, I immediately asked her to get for me one breakfast set frm KFC for me to try out. I've eaten their porridge before, and it was really nice. Mum got a takeaway and brought the food back home for me to eat. The pancakes were nicely browned all over, and there were blueberries here and there. In comparison, the scrambled eggs were a pale yellow. Tried a mouthful of scrambled eggs and I was pleasantly surprised. It was nicely cooked, and dun be taken in by the the colour, it tasted soft and creamy-like. The blueberry pancakes was soft and fluffy, and you could feel the juice of the blueberries in your mouth when you bite into it. Only thing was, they should have added more blueberries so that I could have some blueberries to munch on with each mouthful of pancakes. Haha.
