Quite disappointed to try the food after reading so much good reviews!

We ordered their sliced pork bowl and 1 bowl of their big intestines. Together with the sides dishes - braided peanuts, Mui chai and fried youtiao.

Their peppery soup was rather tasteless and tho you can taste the pepper, that's pretty much about it. The sliced pork was a little too fatty for my liking as half the slice will be the fats!

The intestines was a little porky in the taste but I guess some folks like that.

The side dishes were the decent ones that I have no complains about.

All the above with 2 bowls of rice came up to $20 which I thought was a tad expensive as the slices of pork in the bowl was quite little.

Safe to say I'm not coming back. 😞

We did a drive-by pick up and ordered:
Four Cheese Pizza - hubby ordered this and I tried a couple of bites. I'm really not that impressed with pizza taste actually. The pizza come with Chilli Paste, not chili flakes. Interesting... Hubby commented it's actually nicer with the Chilli paste. That's not saying very much for the taste of the pizza. Crust is not bad, pretty thin and crusty.
Spaghetti Bolognese - daughter liked it enough but I tried a mouthful and it was only so-so. Not a dish to go there for.
Chicken Cream Pasta - I actually forgot the actual name on the menu but the taste is unforgettable!! To me, the pizza and spag bolognese are only so-so in truth and this pasta dish with chicken chunks really made the entire trip to hunt down PS. Cafe Petit.
For the records, we are SO not going back any time soon.

Spending per head: Approximately $25(Lunch)

Cool Place but small portions OK Jun 29, 2014

Was on a hunt for good Mexican good and suggestion for Lucha Loco popped up. So hub and I decided to give it a try.

The deco of the place is really nice, very hip and trendy. Now to the food...

Elote - many reviews have said that there is no regret in ordering the corn cob so we ordered it in good faith. While I would not say it's awful, I didn't think it's worth the $8 for it.

Crab Tostaditos - it's really nice, also very small a plate of it. It's a starter so I guess I shouldn't be expecting it to be filling.

Pork Belly Taco - this is definitely a gourmet version. Think 2 pieces of braised pork belly with some Vege garnish held together by soft taco. Nice but again, small.

Chicken Quesadilla - tasty, just wish there's more of it.

Pastel de Elote Azul - a crumbly dessert made of corn. Not really sweet and I'm not sure if it's meant to be dry but ours was. So I'm not impressed.

I would say that as a hangout place, it's awesome. But I'm a foodie so this place doesn't fulfill me enough. Oh well...

Germany in China? OK May 29, 2014

Interesting to find a rather authentic German sausage stall right smack in the outskirts of Chinatown.
I had their sausage with cheese and I love it! Though I must say that the price is quite steep for the sausages. I also had the soup which I would say 'nevermind the soup' the next time.

No Wombats served here! OK May 29, 2014

Bought some vouchers for this place as I have been meaning to check out the food here anyway.

So a big group of us ordered:

Mushroom Soup - Nice and creamy with taste to match. Good! Daughter drank her own bowl, her sister's soup and half of my help's one as well! You say leh? Good or not?

Range Wings - I think this is their version of Buffalo's Wings? The sauce coating the wings is slightly tangy but not spicy. Not very good, can skip...

Wedges - Nicely done and enjoyed by all. Can't really go wrong with wedges yah?

Seafood Pasta - Not too bad. A little too sweet for my preference. Very cafe standard so I can't really complain.

Meatball Linguine - the sauce is the same as the Seafood Pasta so still a little too sweet for me. The meatballs are nice tho, homemade so that's a plus point there!

White Wine Fish - this is interesting. Fish wrapped in foil and baked in wine, I guess. The result is soft fish and tasty broth. No hint of wine taste so maybe very little wine used? It's nice.

Aglio Olio with Mushroom - daughter wanted pasta and she commented that it was nice. Good for her!

Overall, I found that the food is very decent cafe standard. Not a bad place to dine if in the area. I personally won't go out of the way to come eat here though.
