Great Service and Food Smile Nov 13, 2015

Chanced upon a Groupon voucher to have a 3-course dinner for 39++.

The deal comes with starter, main course and dessert. I choose their lobster bisque which was a lovely seafood-y taste. The soup had bits of lobster which was really nice. It's not too thick which was what I liked. Hubby chose Foie Gras which was nice and all. But the slice of liver over a small toast couldn't compare in size to a large plate of lobster bisque. Hubby pouted as I happily drank my soup!

We all ordered the overnight braised beef cheeks and it was melt-in-your-mouth tasty! The rather-thick piece of meat sat over a bed of mash potatoes. Very very good.

Dessert was lemon lime sorbet. Very artistically put together and tasty quite good. The small berries were just way too tart.

The service was very attentive but that's because there was really no much patrons at the restaurant. With the right vouchers, I'll come back again!

Great Meats & Great Service Smile Nov 12, 2015

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

It has been a while the last time I dined here. And I'm talking about years and years ago when I was still in the University. So the very fact that the restaurant still packs the house to this day is testimony to something.

We were a party of 9 tonight and the meats just came by swift and furious. They are certainly not stingy with their cuts and the servers will often joke with us diners here and again, which really makes the dining experience great.

They have many different servings of meat and I enjoyed 90% of all served! I love how the grilling brought out the natural taste of the meats. Each of us had our personal favourite cuts so I'm confident to say you can definitely find something you will go gaga over. I, personally' enjoy "Top Side" slices very much.

And I forgot to mention that they have a salad bar that features about 20 items of delectable vegetables and pasta too!!! I loved their coleslaw and caramelised onions most! I could easily make a meal out of JUST the salad bar! But it's was a really tough choice to decide between more meat or more vegetables? So I just ate more BOTH!

I had to roll out of the restaurant after the wonderful meal! Will definitely go back!

Decent food & great service Smile Nov 10, 2015

Categories : Bak Kut Teh

Just to put it out there that this Bak Kut Teh is the herbal type. So this is the Malacca herbal type that is very nice.

Our family of 4 had:
* one pot of Bak Kut Teh for 2 pax with enoki mushroom and pieces of tau Kee - very nice soup though I found the pork ribs a tad tough

* sesame ginger chicken - we love the sauce and my girls ate almost all the chicken pieces, leaving us to taste the yummy dish from sucking the chicken bones only. So I did the next best thing which is to put the pork ribs inside the sauce to glaze it. Yummy!

* braised pig's small intestines - tasty pieces with no funny piggy smell

* crispy tau Kee - this is a wonderful dish with layers crispy tau Kee stacked together and glazed with their braised sauce. I've eaten at many Bak Kut Teh places and this is the first place I've seen this done this way! Champion! I wanted to order another but had to stop myself

* broccoli and mushrooms - simple dish of blanched broccoli and seasoned with sesame oil and soy sauce. Approved by my girls so you can trust.

We had all these with the must-have braised peanuts and you tiao, they were average but nice enough.

The meal is essentially very nice and the soup is refillable so that's great! Another great thing is the price tag. The whole meal costed us about $50 which is really value-for-money for a BKT meal. Will return for more!!!

Quite Good Smile Oct 09, 2015

Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

Voted as top 10 best Fishball noodle and displaying these credentials proudly on their stall, I had to check it out myself.

Stall Chef - even with a queue early in the morning, uncle still greets each customer with politeness. Plus for me already. I've had enough with those nose-in-the-air snobs who think my air is all thanx to them (sorry...haze season rant)

Noodle - I ordered meepok dry and I appreciate the QQness of the noodle, leaving each mouthful with that slight bite. Al dente the Italian call it. Nice!

Sauce - I requested for more spice and more vinegar. Their sauce didn't disappoint and it costs the noodles beautifully with even till the last month.

Fishball - I was surprised that their Fishball has no fishy taste to it! It's quite flour-y but at least they tasted good.

Soup - it is clear but full of flavour! I had to ask for seconds!!

All in all a very satisfying meal which I will definitely return for more!

Awesome Pizzas Smile Sep 26, 2015
Categories : Italian | Bars/Lounges | Pasta

Spoilt for food choices at Suntec and was googling for something we've not tried before and Alt Pizza popped up.

Decided to be adventurous and came by to try their pizzas after hearing the good reviews.

Hubby and I shared the:
Crispy Calamari Fritti - I appreciated the fact that they used real squid rings and not the processed mashed-up-grub that some places pass off as seafood rings. The batter was nice and crispy as its name says but we found it a tad too salty. Other than that, very nice size to share before your own pizzas.

Buffalo Bill - hubby liked it quite a bit with the blue cheese taste adequately lacing the pizza. Generous amount of roasted chicken breast meat all over too.

Truffle Shuffle - if you like the taste and smell of truffle and this pizza shouts your name. Like my hubby's pizza, generous amount of funnel sausages and roasted mushrooms and onions makes every bite a delight.

The interior decor just screams young and hip! Not to mention their colourful and zany pizza box designs!!

This pizza place is gonna give other established pizza places a run for their money. The others better watch out for this one. 👍🏼
