Awesome Pizzas Smile Sep 26, 2015

Spoilt for food choices at Suntec and was googling for something we've not tried before and Alt Pizza popped up.

Decided to be adventurous and came by to try their pizzas after hearing the good reviews.

Hubby and I shared the:
Crispy Calamari Fritti - I appreciated the fact that they used real squid rings and not the processed mashed-up-grub that some places pass off as seafood rings. The batter was nice and crispy as its name says but we found it a tad too salty. Other than that, very nice size to share before your own pizzas.

Buffalo Bill - hubby liked it quite a bit with the blue cheese taste adequately lacing the pizza. Generous amount of roasted chicken breast meat all over too.

Truffle Shuffle - if you like the taste and smell of truffle and this pizza shouts your name. Like my hubby's pizza, generous amount of funnel sausages and roasted mushrooms and onions makes every bite a delight.

The interior decor just screams young and hip! Not to mention their colourful and zany pizza box designs!!

This pizza place is gonna give other established pizza places a run for their money. The others better watch out for this one. 👍🏼

Good Food, Decent Service Smile Sep 26, 2015

We braced ourselves for their poor services when we came here for dinner.

Maybe because we were here at 6pm and we were only one of two tables occupied, service was ok. Not the warmest expected but no bad.

We had a Chef Platter to share and the meat slices though they looked very dry, they were full of flavour in your mouth! Very very good!!!

We also has their Hummus which was also very good with the Turkish Bread. Roasted Eggplant Salad turned out to be a cold dish and we kinda didn't expect it. It's not bad but I won't order it again.

I had the Sultan Kebab which I didn't realize it was with that much cheese. I loved the cheese and stewed meat combo.

Hubby had the Pide which is essentially a Turkish pizza I guess. He enjoyed it.

Two of my friends had the Chicken Baked Rice and they liked how cheesy and creamy it was, with a generous amount of grilled chicken meat that's with good flavour.

We enjoyed the Chef Platter the most in the end and would probably get that...one for each one of us! Haha

Pretty Good! Smile Sep 19, 2015

Very enjoyable lunch in a fairly new restaurant, comfortable chairs to cushion my big behind after we feast on all the dishes we ordered.

I ordered many of the restaurant's recommended dishes and was happily pleased to find almost all the dishes very good! We had:
* Marmite Spare Ribs - very well seasoned pork ribs bits that has meat so well cooked that it falls away from the bone easily.

• Salted Egg Fried Fish Skin - this dish is very very addictive! Can't stop and super yummy. I mean, salted egg + deep fried crispy fish skin = super!

* Cereal Prawn - I dunno what type of cereal they use but it's super fine. Coats the prawn balls beautifully. Worthy of mention is that the prawns were fresh and large too!

• 3 Eggs Spinach in Superior Broth - very tasty dish that is a hit with the kids. I lace their rice with the sauce and they happily finish up their rice!

* Tofu with Cai Poh & Pork Floss - soft soft tofu that deep fried and topped with crispy fried cai poh AND floss! Very good combi!

* Golden Medal OTAR Beancurd - tofu pieces that infused with otah taste. But I find the otah taste TOO subtle. My hubby didn't even know it's supposed to have otah taste!!!

* Deep Fried Fish Tail with Fragrant Sauce - the fragrant sauce is very nice but the fried fish was a tad too well fried. A bit too dry for my liking. But I'm a fan of fish so I'll order it again. Heh

• Broccoli with Bean Skin - I found this dish so-so. Not bad but nothing of special mention.

* "Dong Poh" Braised Meat - this is another award winning dish with their stewed pork. It's so-so, not bad lah...

• Deep Fried Prawn Roll - again, not bad but I have had better ones elsewhere.

This is a 5-star rating because this meal is with a Groupon discount which made the meal very much value-for-money. Else it's still a healthy 4-star rating! 😊

Yakitori Smile Sep 09, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Sukiyaki/Shabu Shabu

This is a relatively small Yakitori eatery that I would have driven by without even noticing it. It's in between the Pasta Fresca Salvatore and Ritz Apple Strudel shop.

As this is our first time, we ordered assorted platters to start with and I love how this place make their own sesame miso paste which goes beautifully with the Yakitori sticks. We also ordered sashimi and I must say that their cuts are fat but I have had better elsewhere. This is not to say they were bad ah, just not I would recommend them for.

You do walk out smelling like yakitori yourself after your meal so please plan wisely your after-dinner activities. 😉

Final bill turned out to be quite expensive so this place lost one star (it must have fallen out of the pocket hole that the bill burnt thru). Not likely to return unless it's a treat from someone else! ✌🏼️

Decent food & service OK Aug 03, 2015

Read some pretty awful reviews of Bobby's and since I have bought the Groupon Voucher, we are gonna give this place a chance.

Our party of 3 came here for dinner on a Friday night and this place was buzzing at 8pm. The restaurant was already half full when we arrived.

They have a pretty extensive list of American favorites and we ordered:
* Calamari - beautifully deep fried with a nice batter. I like the accompanying cream dip

* Onion Rings - credit for using real onion rings instead of frozen ones. Enjoyed the natural sweetness of the yellow onion with a generous coating of batter, luckily it's not too heavy the batter.

* Kurobuta Pork Chop - 2 slices of pork chops over a bed of smooth mash and generous serving of rocket leaves with

* Prawn & Bacon Aglio Olio - I think it's a decent fish and the ingredients are generous. Tho I find the many ingredients a tad confusing in a way. Having said this, I'd probably order this again.

* Hangover Burger - hubby had this and he found it quite nice. I stole a bite and I thought the beef was juicy and flavourful. I liked the combo of it!

* Chocolate Volcano - brownie + ice cream + whipped cream = how NOT to LIKE

* Tiramisu - decent taste and a good slab of it

* Creme Brûlée - a little tiny in size but taste great! 👍🏼

With groupon vouchers, we would come back for more.
