Nice food... OK May 24, 2014

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

We started with:
1) Chicken in a Basket - crispy chicken chunks that went down well with the kids and adults alike.
2) Stir-fried Minced Kai Lan with Silver Fish - this was actually very nice! The crispy silver fish over the vege was a great accompaniment to the savoury vege.
The mains we ordered that were quite nice:
3) Black Pepper Chicken Chop with Fries
4) Black Pepper Pork Chop with Spag
5) Steamed Bamboo Rice with Chinese Sausages
6) Braised Beef Brisket Soup Noodles
I ate the Sliced Fish Mui Fan and sadly, even though the ingredients were sufficient, there was little taste in it. I won't recommend this.

Not Bad... OK May 24, 2014

Firstly, its fast food Cantonese fare....so don't raise your expectation k?
Once you've regulated your expectations, their food here is honestly decent. I've tried their Fried Rice which is ok. Prawns are not large but can-spot-with-naked -eye type. I also tried their laksa which is also decent. Gravy is lemak enough and ingredients enough too. Chicken Wings are so-so only, can skip...
Not a bad place if you have had enough of Mac/KFC/Burger King for a while...

Ok Lah... OK May 23, 2014

Wanted to feed some of my Brit pals some grub from their home and this place came up in the trawling the internet.
Many of us had the Sunday Roast (or at least the meal that came closest to that) and it was at best so so only. The meat cut was slightly dry and not very flavourful if not for the sauce. The sides were also ok only. The meal was not cheap thus I thought it was not really value for money.
Not likely to return though...

So so... OK May 23, 2014

My dept wanted to have lunch here and I thought why not!
I got myself a quarter chicken with 3 hot sides. The chicken serving is relatively large but not very tasty if not for the brown sauce over. I'm comparing this to Kenny Rogers whose grilled chicken is good on its own. The sides are passable only for me.
Sad to say that I'll unlike eat here again... sad

More Misses than Hits OK May 22, 2014

There is much hype about this place so our expectations we're heighten too.
We ordered Nasi Goreng Chicken Masala and the Bawang Telor Prata. Truth be told, both were at best ok only. We found the fried rice and Prata to be super oily. The flavour is there but can't help but feel that the food is kinda mass-produced but little love leh.
In fact, the whole Coffeeshop seemed to be super oily! The floor was greasy and so were the cutlery. After the meal, I can't help but feel greasy myself too.
We're not likely to return. sad
