Not nice... Cry Jun 08, 2017

Food here is at most average but the long waiting time is why they lost one star with me.

We ordered:
• Spaghetti with Prawn in Tomyam coconut sauce - I thought this kinda sound strange but there were more than 2 reviewers who mentioned it as good so I thought we'll try. My gut was right, the sauce was coconut-y and Tomyam-y but the concoction just doesn't kick it. Sad 😭

• Olive Rice - after a long wait, we hungrily ate it up and liked it.

• Mixed Grill - this was great. The chicken and beef slices were nicely charred with right amount of BBQ taste. The sotong was also done just nicely without making it into rubber.

Unlikely to return as the wait doesn't warrant the taste of food.

Came here to fuel us up after mass and we had:
Seafood Tomyam Pasta - fettuccine tossed in creamy sauce that is infused with Tomyam spice. The seafood (mussels and grilled prawns) was fresh and generous in amount. Overall a tasty dish.

The Fuel Plus Burger - hubby liked his burger. He also enjoyed the Sweet potato fries that accompanied the burger!

Honey Baby Back Ribs - my FIL enjoyed his the most he declared. I tried a bite and the meat was moist yet falls-off-bone tender. Seasoning also on point.

Mad about Salmon - MIL said it's nice. Salmon meat was not dry and Rosti was great too.

Beef Mac & Cheese - daughter didn't like the shell pasta but she still polished the whole tray of baked pasta! Haha... the sauce base is tomato with cheese over it. Think it's more lasagna than Mac & Cheese really.

BBQ Cheeseburger - this should be good because my 8 year old ate the WHOLE burger unassisted! This only happens when she is super hungry or food is good. I'll lean towards the burger being good.

Parking here is road side and a nightmare so if you don't like to illegally park, you may need to do a stake-out.

Having said that, I'll find another time to try their desserts.

Students Aplenty OK May 29, 2017

Restaurant was quite quiet during lunch time. Hmm..

I upsized my pasta to include drink and soup. Soup was piping hot when it arrived so good. It was a tad too salty and no sure if they made the soup from scratch. I doubt it actually. But at least they included chunks of cauliflower and chicken shreds.

Chicken Pomodoro: the noodles are cooked al dente so that's good. The chicken chunks are marinated so it's already flavoured. The ingredients are also adequately given. Flavour is ok, cannot compare with gourmet restaurants but ok lah.

Beef Lasagne: I appreciate they alternating white sauce and tomato sauce in layering their pasta. The minced beef is a little sparing (if you know what I mean) but overall, my girl liked it.

Pizza Set (Kids Meal):
The pizza is TINY! Lucky my other girl is a small eater so just nice for her. It comes with 2 chicken mid-joint and a generous serving of fries. The pizza flavour is Hawaiian so if that's not your fav, tough luck. Meal comes with a small milo too.

It's not a cheap meal but the aircon is strong and the service is relatively quick. Will return.

Quiet on Sundays Smile May 04, 2017

Categories : Thai | Fusion | Restaurant | Seafood

Came with my family to discover the restaurant very quiet on a Sunday afternoon. Only another family other than us.

We ordered many of their signature dishes and though there were not many people ordering, the food took a while to come. Lucky for us, we were enjoying a lazy Sunday lunch so we were in no rush. We saw later that the kitchen was only manned by 1 chef so maybe that's why.

The food is actually not bad, some were even very good.

The not-bad ones were:
1) Cashew Nut Chicken - a tad spicy and served over a basket of yam!
2) Grilled Pork Collar - not much taste on it's own but the accompanying dip was too sour for my liking
3) Okra - normal nice
4) Pad Thai Seafood - texture ok but a tad too sweet for my liking

The food dishes were:
1) Basil Stir-fried Pork - I didn't have any as my eldest girl ate them all and did a 👍🏼 when I exclaimed "no more for me?!"
2) Crispy Fish Skin - super crispy and laced with salted egg = Yumz
3) Olive Rice - nicely fried and fully flavour, another favourite of my eldest girl
4) Pandan Chicken - good marination so the meat was tasty and nicely fragranced with pandan
5) Prawn Cake - not the factory made ones, you can tell from the bits of prawn in the patty. Was the right kind of crunch
6) Red Curry with Roast Duck - this is an interesting dish with mild lychee sweetness and red curry spiciness in a good combo!
7) Soft Shell Crab Salad - didn't see much of the salad but the crispy soft shell crab made up for the dish
8) Tom Yam Potaek - not a big bowl but the ingredients were fresh and the soup not overly spicy that it'll kill your tastebuds.
9) Street Omelette with minced Pork - fluffy egg fried with minced pork and onion strips! Let's just say the kids ate through the first one so fast that we had to order another!

Actually pretty good Smile Apr 02, 2017

The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived for dinner and to me, an empty restaurant means bad food or bad service or worse, both!

We had 2 starters and 2 pastas and they are all very nice actually! A most satisfying meal indeed!

We had:
Prosciutto Ham and Melon - lovely combo of salty and sweet!! The cuts of ham were generous and the melon slices were so sweet! That equates to heavenly bites every bite! Very nice!

Calamari - the batter was pretty bland but still crispy. Average nice.

Bacon Carbonara - wonderfully creamy and the savoury bits of bacon made the overall taste very enjoyable.

Seafood Linguine - am impressed with their seafood both in amount and freshness level. I am very happy with this pasta dish as the flavour is spot on and the tomato sauce is tasty.

We will definitely be back for more yummy pasta!
