lemon chicken Smile Mar 19, 2012

was with friends and as usual we end up choosing japanese cuisine for dinner and ootoya was one of the top choices due to the nice and cheap food. i ordered the lemon chicken to tried, the sauce was not bad but it tasted sweeter than i expected but the portion was really generous. the side dish was cold egg plant which tasted slightly blend but it kind of complement especially with the strong flavour from the chicken. also you can choose other type of rice instead of the normal white rice which i think was quite nice

recently went down to try new york new york and i was browsing through the menu, everything looks very beefy and i was not in the mood for beef so i decided to order sandwhich. the bread came with tortilla chips with salsa dip, although it was slightly spicy, i think it goes really well with the chips. for the sandwhich it contained both ham and bacon, i like the ham, was really nice but the bacon was too oily and fatty so i didnt like it that much

nice and cheap japanese food OK Mar 09, 2012

been awhile since i last ate at ootoya and was not feeling well for the passed few days so decided to get something healthy so i tried the steam rice. honestly i was having high expectation because from the menu, the steam rice looks very nice but the actual thing was not the same, the egg and shrimps were very little and the sad thing was that i could not change the type of rice because the staff say if change rice will need to steam twice then not so nice. but nonetheless after trying the steam rice, i felt it was just average compared to other ootoya dishes, so next time i wont try it again

wanted something healthier so decided to have soup spoon for dinner. there was a new promo about 3 new soups and i decided to go for the sumo nabe soup which sounds nice. i was quite surprised when i saw the soup because from the picture i was expecting a clear soup but it turned out like a creamy yong tau fu soup but still tasted nice.

had a craving for aglio oilo so ordered the mushroom aglio oilo to try, you can ask for additional prawns which cost $3 extra but i wanted it vegetarian that day. when the food was served, the portion looks pretty small but when i start to eat, i realised there was quite a lot of pasta there. the taste was quite nice, quite a strong touch of garlic which i like and not too spicy
