set meal OK Mar 27, 2012

after looking at the menu for a very long time, i finally choosen the beef with saba set since it looked most appealing and value for money. indeed the portion for the dish was very big, the saba fish was huge and was the whole fish instead of the normal half portion. taste wise was not bad too and i like the hot plate concept is that it can keep the food warm as you eat

sour and spicy noodle Smile Mar 27, 2012

despite the bad environment at this store, i still patron this place when i go to chinatown due to the nice food. my favourite is the sour and spicy noodle, the noodle is different from the normal one so i like it alot. the fried dumpling ( guo tie) is also another of my favourite. this time we also tried the mee goreng, i think the taste was not that nice which i guess because the dish is not typical china dishes so the staff do not know how to cook it as well

indian food Smile Mar 27, 2012

i seldom eat indian food because i do not really like the spices in the dishes but the indian store in engine canteen is different, most of the dishes taste very nice. this time i was daring to try the yoghurt rice and i think i shall not make the same mistake again. my boyfriend like the yoghurt rice but definitely not for me, luckily i only added a bit of yoghurt or else i could not eat at all. my favourite dish from this store is the fried onion rings but sadly it was sold out that day

roast pork rice OK Mar 27, 2012

Categories : Hainanese | Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

gotten the roast pork rice for lunch since all the other stores had super long queue. as usual i added the braised beancurd since it tasted nice and also added more source of fibre to the meal. today roast pork was not as nice and it had a lot of fats in it. the rice portion was really a lot, i think there was at least 1.5 bowls of rice in there. my friend told me their chicken rice chilli was horrible but when i tried it today, i felt it was not too bad

cha siew ramen OK Mar 27, 2012
Categories : Singaporean | Stall / Kiosk | Ramen

went down for lunch recently and ordered the tonkutsu char siew ramen. the soup was ok, quite thick but i dont understand why was there so many bubbles at the side of the bowl, it looked as if the staff never washed the bowl properly and still had soap on it. anyway, i was very shock when i saw the char siew, i felt as if i was eating pork belly. i know that char siew can be fatty but not till the extend like a slab of fats. but fats aside, the char siew still tasted quite nice but too salty also
