Tampopo OK Oct 30, 2011

I came with my wife for lunch after hearing about their famous ‘Black Pig’ ramen
ordered the Black Pig Shabu Ramen, which was ramen in a spicy Kyushu (pork bone) soup with wafer-thin slices of pork. The ramen and soup were nothing spectacular
each slice was lined with thin layers of fat, and each mouthful literally melted in the mouth
We quite like the place.
Portions are enough for two people to each have a ramen and still share a large side. Besides the ramen, the other stuff looked pretty good too.

The food is quite suited to take-out anyway. They have pizzas and baked pastas
My fav was their deep fried cheese. Beside the usual mozzarella sticks, they have deep fried Edam wedges, Camembert wedges, and delicious little morsels of deep fried mac and cheese.
We tried all three (passed on the predictable mozzarella), and my favourite is the Camembert, with the mac and cheese a close second. I like Camembert anyway, and to have it hot, oozy and crispy is just heaven
Not exactly cheap by but definitely worth a try

Prima Taste Kitchen OK Oct 29, 2011

I was there with my wife for dinner
We ordered the Laksa Seafood Porridge, served piping hot in a claypot.
Actually, this is more like mui fun than porridge
There's prawns, crayfish, clams, scallops, bamboo shoot, shredded cucumber, laksa gravy, and rice instead of noodles
The rice tainted the flavour of the laksa gravy
Service was surprisingly good
Taste-wise, it’s good, but not great. I’d say this place is just alright

Don Quijote OK Oct 29, 2011

MY friend recommended this place to us
We ordered a selection of Spanish hams, sausages and cheeses. This was quite a disappointment
The cured meats here didn’t have much flavour and were quite chewy, and the cheeses were quite basic as well
The smoked salmon roll with cream cheese and lettuce was wrapped in an omelette instead of a typical tortilla
The grilled scallops with bacon bits and chicken wings with tomato, chilli and garlic sauce were both pretty good. The wings came with an optional spicy dip that packed a good punch.
The service is superb. The food is above average. It’s not cheap

Quiznos sub OK Oct 29, 2011

It give me the subway feel
We both ordered combo meals
I had a Turkey Ranch and Swiss with the chicken noodle soup, and my wife had a Classic Club with a chocolate chip cookie. Both combos also come with a soft drink.
The chicken noodle soup and chocolate chip cookie were both so so
Subway have variety of breads to choose from but Quiznos only white and whole wheat.
Subway you can custom design your sub with various dressings, vegs etc.
But here toppings and dressings are predetermined. However what I really liked about Quiznos is the free flow of various types of peppers, like Jalapeno and banana peppers, which added a great kick to the sandwich
