I ordered a dinner set that came with the soup of the day (mushroom), half rack of ribs and a soft drink
The mushroom soup boded quite well , it didn’t taste like canned soup so I thought we were off to a fairly ok start.
We were given a selection of sauces for the ribs – original, apricot and whiskey. I decided to play it safe and went with original. I also don’t like my meats slathered in gravy, so I asked for the sauce to be served on the side. I found the ribs a bit overcooked; they fell off the bone fairly easily but were quite tough to chew and pretty dry.
The bill came up to just under $100, which to be fair isn’t very high, but at the same time I think we can get cheaper, and better food, elsewhere.

We got there pretty early
Since Pique Nique is the creation of Chef Pang of Canele fame, I had high hopes for their salted caramel here. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with salted caramel and whipped butter
The salted caramel was good; there just wasn't enough of it. The pancakes were too thick, so the bits without the caramel were pretty bland. And I have no idea where the butter was.
We also shared the Breakfast Dog, which came with chopped tomatoes, relish, bacon and a fried egg. I was slightly disappointed to see that the egg was just unceremoniously plonked on top. The hot dog bun was nice and light, but other than that, it was quite ordinary. Overall is "Not Recommended"

I ordered a dish that was described as spicy chicken with century egg,
but i just tasted normal
I would strongly recommend sharing their noodle dishes, because their portions are massive
The stir fried beef with eggplant had rather overcooked and tough beef, but absolutely delicious eggplant. And the mixed vegetable and mushroom noodle soup that I had was chockfull of vegetables, very light yet tasty

Came here with my wife
The food is a bit too expensive
We ordered oyster omelette-This is delicious
Here it’s done with a soft interior and crispy exterior, not starchy or oily, and the oysters are fresh and not overly cloying
pan-seared pig’s liver-erfectly cooked with the liver still slightly runny inside. We got distracted as the other dishes arrived, and by the time we got back to the liver it was a bit cold and slightly overcooked.
Portions aren’t huge so this isn’t the cheapest of places, but I was very impressed with the food, particularly the oyster omelette

We ordered a couple of grilled meats, since that’s what they’re supposed to be famous for.
At about $20++ and up for the meats, it was definitely true that this place isn’t cheap. We went for a beef short rib , and a honeycomb pork belly We also ordered a kimchi soup, We sat back, expecting just a light meal of soup and some grilled meat. Suddenly a waitress appeared with a gazillion plates till our table was full to overflowing. So much for a simple meal! I guess when you order the grilled meats, all the side dishes are included. There were loads, from two different types of kimchi, cold tofu, ikan bilis, to a sweet potato salad and a sweet fritter of sorts.
he cabbage kimchi was excellent lightly spicy and garlicky, and perfect with hot white rice. The tofu was good too, as was the stir fried bean sprouts. On hindsight, since all these are included with the grill, the prices aren’t that astronomical after all.
I dare say that I enjoyed this a lot
