Pepper lunch @ AMK  Smile Aug 18, 2013

My best friend dated me to AMK for a movie. And since we were there early to buy our tickets, we headed to pepper lunch for our lunch.

I ordered the curry chicken rice set, since at that moment i feel a craving for curry.

The set comes with a soft drink which i chose root beer as seen.

This was my first time ordering curry chicken rice at pepper lunch as usually i would order something like salmon or chicken to cook and act to have a taste like i am doing a homecooked meal tongue.

It was a nice meal and i actually like this curry chicken meal a lot especially when i can sizzle my curry sauce in the hot plate.
Yum yum lol

Tom Yam Soup  Smile Aug 18, 2013
Categories : Singaporean | Food Court

When it was feeling cold for the day. I would always go for something soupy to warm my stomach.
And I ordered this Tom Yam soup while lunching at NP - Munch Canteen.

It was a satisfying meal though the soup does not really tastes like thai tom yam those authentic taste, it still tasted well and the ingredients i found inside the soup compensated for the lack of soup tastes.

Thus, given a second opportunity i would love to go back this stall and perhaps order other stuffs to try.

A happy yet disappointed attempt Cry Aug 18, 2013

When I first saw this store, I was full of anticipation to try the food since it was selling Malaysian foods.

And so I ordered a cup of black coffee and a set of pig trotter's meal.

When first tried, the food was a disappointment as my food was serve warm to cold kind of texture sad The coffee also taste quite diluted. After a few mouth of meats and rice, I simply left with a happy turned to bad mood.
Will not go back as not only it was expensive it is not nice too!

老黄瓜汤 Smile Aug 18, 2013

I have long heard this soup restaurant from my dad as he keeps on saying how we should go here and have a taste of this delicious saliva-drooling soup.

So when it was his off day, he bought us out for a try of this soup.

And it really make our days after trying out the soup from here. The soup was boiled with real ingredients as you can see from the image

and it was not diluted at all! Simply great taste. Furthermore, with the 50 cents yam rice, easily i have 2 bowls of rice with a bowl of chicken soup.

It was quite amused to me to find this poster about QR code.

Kind of 'Wow' to find how this soup store can get so advanced smile

Here is a front stall image shown

As quoted from my dad, it is a must try.

Landed on Changi Aiport Terminal 2 as i came back singapore from BKK trip. Kop Khun ka to all openricers smile
Quite shock to have found a peranakan cafe outlet here when i was heading home.

Since it has been weeks since i last tried Singapore food, buying a piece of kueh to eat seem very ideal.
And here you see below is the kueh lapis. A type of traditional kueh which i have been eating since young.

Dont belittle this kueh, behind it - the making process was a tough one, as it required lots of time and effort to make the thousand layers. Yum yum..... I would always eat it by section just like how i eat a ‘九层糕 (Jiu Cheng Gao)’

I bought this kueh lapis at the cost of $1.90 not cheap i would say. But the food did match the value as it is not too oily and as i seperated the layers it was a smooth tear smile.

Would like to try it again but not frequently.
