Too small portions for a buffet Cry Mar 04, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hot Pot | BBQ | Buffet

Went with friends on a Saturday to Bugis and we were wondering what to eat when this auntie, who was pulling guests, mentioned us in. The menu on the door stated that we can order as much as we want and the list of food available was quite long.

However, we were disappointed because even though there were many choices on the food list (you have to tick the food you want on a paper checklist then they'll bring to you), some food were not available (the service staff said the chef has not arrived so the food item was unavailable. Seriously.

The plates were really small and the portions were pathetic for a buffet. So for the second round I checked each food item twice, meaning that I indicated double for each food item. Yet the service staff still brought only ONE set. And they weren't keen to serve customers as well.

Overall, I wouldn't go to such a place again as I believe that with the same price paid I could have gotten a better meal elsewhere.

Spending per head: Approximately $20

The brat stack OK Jun 25, 2013

Categories : Live Sports Broadcast

This is my first time going to this restaurant. It was a hippy feeling restaurant that was reeking of youthful vibes. Most of the people we saw there were young people too. We ordered the brat stack, which was pancake combo with sausages and salad and hash browns. The pancake was fluffy and light, it went well with the maple syrup. I had never had pancake as main course before so it was a first for me.

Thin crust pizza OK Jun 25, 2013   (Related Review)

After being to the Bistroquet Grill and Bar at Alexandra two weeks ago after trying their smoothie, I went back there again to try their main courses. There was really not much people when we went there and the staff was resting at the small drink counter. They quickly served us when we went in. Their menu said their pizzas are wood-fired thin crust pizza. We ordered the Meat Lovers' pizza which had duck meat with mozzarella and some herbs. It was very light but not filling and for those looking for a quick bite.

Cupcake delights OK Jun 13, 2013
Categories : Desserts and Cakes

As most cupcake-lovers would know by now, the famous celebrity couple Jaime Teo and Daniel Ong has brought on a wave of cupcake-craze in recent periods. As usual, I am one of those people who are slow to catch up on fads or trends and hence the latest attempt to try out their cupcakes. Of course I had to try flavours such as red velvet. It was simply oozing with goodness! For a person who don't really fancy too much sweetness and cream, it was really nice. Though it doesn't come cheap (given its size), it could serve to be a nice little dessert while you are chilling with your friends while shopping around.

we bought red velvet,chocolate,vanilla.

Chilis not hot but cold OK May 27, 2013
Categories : American | Restaurant | Steaks and Grills

This time round, we weren't at Chilis Grill and Bar for something hot and tangy, but for something cold and sinful! It was their famous chocolate molten lava cake served with a vanilla ice cream topping. The cake was made to shape like a volcano with the ice cream on top of it. There were caramel and chocolate sauce drizzled on top of it too. Wait for the final bit - the core was filled with a warm chocolate fudge filling. It all melts in your mouth and begs for a second bite smile
