Durian cakes!! This must be one of the best combinations for durian lovers. And it is from the durian brand Mao Shan wang. The cake has three layers of soft vanilla chiffon cake, with thick creamy rich durian pulp around and between the layers. It also had pieces of golden chocolate. it is really a must try for all durian lovers out there. it's was really good and delicious!

Bought some more chewy junior donuts! Simply cannot resist their cute looks and oozing sweetness of the icing. This time round I went to try the flavour Raspberry Lemon! It was really nice! The thick icing if lemon was wrapped around the raspberry jam that was placed in the middle of the puff, which contained custard cream. The lemon taste was zesty but not too overpowering. It sweet and sour of the lemon and raspberry blended together nicely.

I bought the cream cheese caramel flavour for a taste today! Usually I do not like cheese on its own, it feels too sour for me. However, for this puff, you have to bite BOTH the cheese and caramel together to fully get the greatness of this flavour combination. The slight sourness and thickness of the cheese goes well with the light and sweet caramel at the centre.

This is the Strawberry Butter Cream Dream, such a fancy name for a donut. With a sweet tooth,I am roaming around to try to their wide variety of deliciously looking donuts. The strawberry cream is very sweet, with hints of sourness of strawberry. The cream at the center otherwise has been overpowered by the strawberry cream around it. This is of course, for those with sweet tooth and looking for a fast bite.

Tried the Oreo Chocolate Crunch. It was made of the basic crunchy cream puff with a layer of Oreo powder over it. In my opinion the layer of Oreo powder could be slightly thicker to enhance the Oreo taste of the puff. Overall, it was too light for my liking. But I would still recommend it and the double chocolate crunch which has much more chocolate taste.

Bibimbap Smile Jun 25, 2013

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Korean BBQ

Had a craving for Korean food perhaps due to all the Korean drama watching hehe. So I went to this restaurant which a friend had previously gone to and recommended to me. I love bibimbap as I think it is so healthy. So of course I ordered it when I got there. It had to be one of the best I've tried, with the proportions just nice. There was egg, cucumber, bean sprouts, mushrooms, shreds of chicken and of course your usual kimchi sauce.

Berry smoothie Smile Jun 24, 2013

ARC always had a very clean ambience, perhaps of it's central location. The restaurant was near the escalator and had a nostalgic vintage feel. The menu itself was stapled onto a wooden board. They offer a wide variety of drinks, ranging from summer ale, cider, wine to coffee, iced tea, and a list of every possible smoothie made from real fruits! They all had fanciful names like "wake you up" and "o'real'". I ordered "berry power" to try and it was quite nice! U can taste the fruits, but it is a little sour, probably because it's from real fruits.

Went there for a lunch as a farewell lunch gathering for a colleague. We ordered the seafood fried rice, Sheng mian, san bei ji (chicken), Kang kong stir fried with sambal, honey dipped stir fried pork and steamed fish. Overall, the quality of food was okay, but the size portions are quite small for the price paid in my opinion. They gave free chrysanthemum tea and top up along the way. Most of the other customers there were also for corporate functions I believe and not so much for the taste of the food I believe.
