When I was having sorethroat a couple of weeks back, i had to stick to a rather mild diet.
Hence, I ordered the Ginger & Onion Sliced Fish for lunch,
The portion of rice served was generous.
However, there wasn't fish served.
There was probably more or as much ginger as fish

Moving away from the portion size, the food tasted rather average.
It wasn't as flavourful as the Ginger & Onion Sliced Fish I've tried at various other places.
This was leaning more towards bland.

Won't be trying this dish again!

Recently, I ordered Fried Rice from the the Oriental Store in Megabites Hot Bites.
The wait for the food took about 5-10mins and a queue number was given which would be announced once the food was ready for collection.

The fried rice was nothing much to rave about.
It was rather average and plain and definitely a disappointment as I was having a huge craving for Fried Rice that day!

Definitely won't be going back for Fried Rice but other dishes though

On a rainy day after school, my classmate and I dropped by Great World City and decided to have Xiao Long Baos at Crystal Jade.
I had never tried the Xiao Long Baos from Crystal Jade prior to this and was wondering if it could match up to Din Tai Fung's standard.

Sadly, it did not.
The XLB's at Crystal Jade is not as tender or juicy as the ones at DTF.
Also, it definitely isn't as flavourful either.
However despite this, it still was quite tasty but just not comparable to the ones at DTF.

Will probably not try the XLB's at Crystal Jade again and shall stick to my all-time favourite Din Tai Fung instead!

While doing some shopping in Plaza Singapura, my friends and I decided to head to Mac's to rest for a while and have some drinks and snacks.
I ordered a large fries for myself as I was craving for it.
Also, I asked for BBQ sauce as well Sweet & Sour sauce which was something I had not tried prior to this.
The staff was very friendly as well.

The fries were definitely fried well till it was a nice golden brown and it was very crisp as well.
However, it was a tad bit too salty though which made me very thirsty!
The fries, as always, go very well with their garlic chilli sauce.
With the BBQ sauce, it tastes pretty good as well but I didn't like the combi of fries with the Sweet & Sour sauce though.

I think I'll stick to having fries with their chilli sauce instead in the future and use the BBQ sauce with their nuggets and probably not try their Sweet & Sour sauce again as it wasn't really good.

For lunch on Friday, I ordered from the Oriental shop at Megabites Hot Bites.
I was so excited to try the food as the shop is usually closed whenever I'm there!

I chose the Diced Chilli Chicken with Rice as it sounded super good!
I was given a number and had to wait about 10 minutes before my food was ready.

At only $3.80, the portion is huge!
The chicken was served separately in a plate and with a bowl of rice.
The diced chicken came with those dried chilli as well as cashew nuts and some lettuce.
The chicken was very flavourful and slightly spicy.
However, it also had a bit of skin on top of it and I'm not a fan of skin!
The cashew nuts sadly was very dry and pale and not roasted unlike the ones I've tried at other shops.

Overall, I think the food was pretty average although the portion was huge.
The food can definitely be improved by the following:
1) Remove the skin and fats from the chicken
2) Use roasted cashew nuts instead
3) Have a little gravy so that the rice wouldn't be so dry when eaten

Despite these, I will definitely be trying this shop again but will order something different!
