Dad's 58th Birthday Smile Dec 19, 2011

Categories : Thai

My family and I went to A-Roy Thai Restaurant yesterday to celebrate my dad's 58th birthday.
As always, we ordered their Mango Fish.
This is one dish we always look forward to eating and hence, never fail to order!!

We ordered the medium-sized Mango Fish which was served in 6 pieces, at $25.90
The fish is deep-fried and was very crispy and succulent.
The mango topping on it is what makes this dish so unique.
It complements the dish well and brings out it's flavour.
Also, there is a generous portion of cut mango strips lining the plate and this when eaten on it's own is incredibly delicious!

Definitely a must-try dish when visiting this restaurant!
Do note however that the dishes are rather expensive but well worth it as they serve quality Thai cuisine!
A great place for family dinners or a gathering as the restaurant has a nice ambience and decor and the staff are attentive and friendly!

Sausages! Smile Dec 17, 2011

I ordered the German Nuremberger Sausages, priced at $12.80.
The description of it from the menu is "3 spiced German pork sausages, “Nuremberger style” served with fries and greens."
The outer layer of the sausage was slightly crisp yet soft inside and there was a mild spiced taste.
It was definitely something unique and different (in a good sense) from the type of sausages one would get at most places.
The fries were fried well as well and were thick and crisp.

Was an extremely satisfying meal which left me rather full! smile

Wanton Noodles Smile Nov 08, 2011

Definitely one of the best Wanton Noodles I've tried.
There's always a long queue here and you'll be given a queue number which will be shown electronically when your food is ready.
Waiting time isn't too long either.

The wanton noodles come with a generous amount of char siew and wanton in it and although it is rather oily, it taste really delicious!
The chilli goes very well with the noodles as well.

Great place to chill out with a bunch of friends over a great meal!

Chicken Temptation Smile Nov 08, 2011

A week back, I went to the Domino's outlet at Bukit Merah to takeaway.
I ordered a Regular Chicken Temptation pizza which was a combination of 100% Mozarella Cheese with Succulent Smoked Chicken Breast, Turkey Ham and Green & Red Pepper.
As for the crust, I chose the Classic Hand Tossed which is described as being "made from fresh dough using a unique oil-free screen-baking process".
Lastly, I requested for extra cheese on the pizza for an additional $2.

Once the pizza was ready, I got home as quickly as possible.
10 minutes later and the pizza was still piping hot!
When I opened the box, I didn't know what I was more excited by; the smell or the sight!!!!!
The smell of cheese overpowered the room and I couldn't wait a second longer!!

I felt like I was in heaven with that very first bite I took.
The dough was soft and chewy yet thick and fluffy.
They definitely weren't the least bit stingy with the cheese as it melted into my mouth.
There was definitely a very generous amount of ingredients, not just with the cheese but with the chicken and ham as well!

I loved every bite of the pizza and am definitely gonna be ordering from Domino's more often!!!!!!
Just the thought of it is making me hungry;(

Honestly one of the best pizzas around!
Very satisfying, delicious and just MMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
Be prepared to have a slice or two more than usual ;) I know I did!

TIP: Try to get those discount coupons from Domino's which have offers such as $10 off, 30% off, etc. Makes the meal much cheaper and more worth it! smile

Nasi Lemak! Smile Oct 31, 2011

Categories : Halal

I've been a fan of Qiji since it's opening many years ago.
Over the years, they've introduced many new dishes and sets which have all been delicious!
Along with that however, the prices have increased drastically!
When I first started buying Nasi Lemak from Qiji, it only cost $3 something. Now it costs $4.80!

Anyway the set that I ordered was the Nasi Lemak Set 7 which comprises Ikan Bilis with nuts, Egg, Otah, Chicken Cutlets and their sambal.
This set is pretty good in my opinion.
The Otah has always been my favourite dish of the Nasi Lemak from here. Probably one of the best Otah's I've ever tried!
The Ikan Bilis however has a tendency of being too salty at times.
The chicken cutlet can definitely be improved by cutting down on the layer of skin on it as by the time it is eaten, the skin is very soggy hence making the chicken taste not as good!

Other than that, the nasi lemak from Qiji is a must try!! smile
