It's been very long since I last had Bak Kut Teh which is why when I came across this stall, I knew I just had to satisfy that craving!!

The portion is very generous, with huge meaty pieces of pork in the soup.
However there was a thick layer of fats as well on the pork which I suppose is normal for Bak Kut Teh.
The soup tasted rather average and could have been better with the addition of a lot of pepper.

Overall, I think the Bak Kut Teh was of average standards and didn't quite satisfy my craving
Definitely have tried better ones before!!

During my lunch break at work, I went to Banquet in Harbourfront with my colleague to have lunch.
By the time we reached and queued up, there was a lack of variety.
I ended up choosing the egg tofu, chicken nuggets, fried potato and lemak gravy.

The chicken nuggets were yummy!
Although it wasn't warm and crispy, it was very tender.
The fried potato was of an average standard as it was quite soggy and soft.
The egg tofu and lemak gravy were a tad bit too bland
Perhaps if I had gotten curry or asam gravy, the food would've tasted better.

Overall, I feel that the food was of an average standard.
Perhaps this was due to the lack in variety of the ingredients available!

Recently, I tried the Jap Crispy Chicken with Rice from Zesty Tomato as there was no queue for once!
However, I ended up waiting almost 20 minutes for my food whereas others who came after me received their food first.
WHY? Because the staff forgot about my order although I was standing there waiting for my food for so long.
When I finally asked them about my food, then only did they realise they had given my food to someone else who ordered after me.
As I was already starving, this horrible service made me all the more frustrated.

Being able to watch the cook was a huge turn off as his hygiene level is very poor!
He did not have gloves on and kept rubbing his nose and flicking his hair and speaking while handling the food.

Despite being disgusted, I was too hungry to complain and just ate the food, trying my best to not think of the poor hygiene.
The food was of a rather average standard.
The chicken had too much skin on it and the rice was too dry as they were not generous with the gravy.
Also, they put a scoop of baked beans near the middle of the rice, which spoilt the taste of the rice with the tomato flavour.

Overall for the high price and rather poor quality of the food, this was definitely not worth it and I doubt I will be going back to Zesty Tomato again due to the poor service.

It was around tea time and I was craving some dessert so I headed to Secret Recipe, where they sell quality cakes!
However, their choices on that day was rather limited and they didn't have my favourites
Hence, I settled with the Chocolate Banana cake despite not being a huge fan of banana.

The serving of the cake was extremely huge, enough to be shared among 2 which I did!
The top of the cake comes with a thick, fudgy layer of chocolate followed by alternating layers of chocolate cream and sponge and banana slices within these layers.

The layer I loved the most was obviously the topmost.
Afterall, who can resist such chocolatey goodness!

Overall, I feel that the cake was rather average perhaps cause I'm not a huge fan of bananas.
I've definitely tried way better cakes at Secret Recipe

On Saturday, I went to Eat. at TBP for dinner.
I ordered the Dry Minced Meat U Mian which came with a bowl of soup.

The portion of minced meat in the noodles was rather measly though it was juicy and tender, just how I like my meat to be.
Also, there was a piece of fried wanton which was extremely crispy and delicious, though a tad bit too oily.

On the whole, I would say the noodles were of above average quality but definitely not the best I've tried.
At $4.30, I had better expectations.
