For my friend's 18th birthday, I got her a Cookies-in-Gift tin from Famous Amos.
Knowing that my friend is a huge fan of anything chocolatey, I got her the Double Chocolate Chip cookies.

The staff at the shop were very patient as I took a bit of time to decide which gift tin to choose to get for my friend as well as which cookie flavour to get.
The staff was very helpful and gave me suggestions as well.

The cookies were packed very neatly and well into the gift tin and my friend was absolutely delighted when I gave it to her.
She shared her cookies with me and they were really fresh and chocolatey and tasted good!
However, I do prefer the Chocolate Chip flavours from Famous Amos as I felt that this was a little bitter and too chocolatey though my friend loves this flavour the most!

If you're looking for a gift, Famous Amos gift tins are great presents!

Xiao Long Baos! Smile Oct 05, 2011

Being a huge of XLB's, my friend and I got really excited when we saw that Paradise Dynasty had come up with 8 different types of XLB's; Original, Ginseng, Foie Gras, Black Truffles, Crab Roe, Cheese, Garlic and Szechuan.

Afraid of being too adventurous, we decided to stick to the safer options which were the Original as well as the Cheese.
We had to order Original as we wanted to compare it to Din Tai Fung's XLB's which are our favourite.
After trying out Paradise Dynasty, I can safely say that I still prefer Din Tai Fung's XLB's as it is juicier and the meat is definitely more tender.

As for the cheese XLB's, it was definitely a unique spin as compared to the original XLB's. Being huge fans of cheese, my friend and I liked the cheese XLB's....initially. However after a couple of XLB's, the cheese became too overpowering and we felt a little jelat.
That's not to say that the cheese XLB isn't good. It IS good but only in small amounts before it gets too overpowering.
Will definitely be a better option to share it among more people!

So if you do pop by Paradise Dynasty and are a cheese fan, do give the Cheese XLB's a try! And of course if you're more adventurous, try the other flavours!

Also, the ambience of this place is very relaxed and laidback and the interior is gorgeously designed! The staff is very attentive and courteous and will refill your Chinese Tea often. Great place for family dinners and you'll love the interior decor!

Chocolate Vanilla Martini Smile Oct 05, 2011

Categories : Bars/Lounges | Hotel

When my cousin came down from Malaysia for a visit, my brother and I brought her to New Asia Bar in the evening for drinks.

They have a wide selection of drinks and many which I've never seen elsewhere before. I had a difficult time deciding upon which drink to order and finally, I succumbed to the Chocolate Vanilla Martini which sounded too good to resist!
The Chocolate Vanilla Martini is a concoction of Ultimat Pure Vodka and Cacao White and is blended very well to serve as a great combination!

At $19 a glass, it might be a tad pricey but it's all worth it when you see the view!
Located on the 71st floor, you'll be offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline which overlooks Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer among others.

Definitely a great place to watch the F1 or to just go and chill at!!! lollollol

Sparkling Wine Smile Oct 05, 2011

Categories : Bars/Lounges

To celebrate my friend's 18th birthday, she got a birthday package at Zirca which came with many drinks and a Sparkling Wine bottle.

The Sparkling Wine was sweet but not too overpowering and we all really liked it. The service was also good considering that it was a very crowded day.

Orleans Delight, yummyyyyy! Smile Oct 05, 2011

Categories : Restaurant | Pasta

While at Far East Square with a few friends recently, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner.
Instead of ordering the usual pizza, we decided to try out other dishes. As my friends are fans of pasta, they ordered pasta for themselves whereas being a huge baked rice fan, I ordered the Orleans Delight which was supposed to be spicy.

When the baked rice arrived, I became so impatient and just wanted to dig in as it looked and smelt heavenly! However I knew I had to resist and wait for it to cool down for fear of burning my tongue! And boyyyyyyy, was the wait worth it!

According to the menu, Orleans Delight is a flavourful mix of New Orleans spiced chicken, pineapple chunks, capsicums, onions, mushrooms, mozarella cheese and buttered rice flavoured with Italian herbs in tangy neapolitan sauce.

The baked rice was served with generous amounts of chicken for sure and it indeed was very flavourful and spicy too!

However, there was a bit of rice at the sides that were still quite uncooked. Also being a huge cheese fan, it would definitely be tastier if the baked rice was served with more cheese lol

Overall, the baked rice was certainly good except for the bits of uncooked rice here and there.
