Good food but slow service Smile Jun 20, 2012

Categories : Multi-Cuisine | Restaurant

This place is a little quiet after working hour as it located right at the CBD area. As the result, the staffs gathered at the back and chat, not very attentive or alert. However, the food is good as per usual. I had the seafood aglio olio. The garlic flavour and the slight hotness from the chilli padi gives an extra kick to the simple pasta dish, and the prawns are very fresh too.

The dessert is sinfully yummy. Dark Devotion is pretty much a chocolate cake, with the melted chocolate filling. Very rich and delicious.

Natto OK Jun 20, 2012
Categories : Japanese

Natto is a kind of fermented soy beans that you will find exclusively in Japanese restaurant, or supermarket. I never tried one before, so I just ordered one during my visit to Ootoya Japanese restaurant. The price is reasonable ($3.50), and the dish is presented in such a nice way that it looks appetizing. However, I find the taste very strong, the kind of turned-bad taste, and I reckon one would have very acquired taste to like it.

Thunder tea rice Smile Jun 20, 2012
Categories : Hakka | Food Court

Thunder tea rice is a healthy food. It consists of lots of vegetables, including greens, long beans, tofu, some peanuts.. and of course rice. You will be given a bowl of soup that made of blended herbs, tea leaves, sesame, ginger .. etc. The soup is the main call for thunder tea rice, and this stall at food republic vivo city has done it so well. The fragrant of the herbs and sesame is so aromatic. If you ask nicely, the staff might give you a bigger bowl of soup without additional cost smile

Small pot noodles OK Jun 15, 2012
Categories : Food Court

The small pot noodles consists of a bowl of dry noodles (you can choose either thin noodles - mee kia or flat noodles - mee pok). The mushroom gravy is quite well done. The soup has plenty of stuffs inside. I quite like their minced meat, and the meat balls.

Their roasted chicken noodles is quite alright too. I like the slightly crispy skin of the roasted chicken, though the meat is a bit too dry because it's the breast part.

This noodles stall at engineering canteen in NUS is pretty famous, and they serve really good minced meat noodles. I was quite hungry the other day so decided to order the 'small pot noodles' ($2.8), where the dry noodles comes with a small pot of soup. There are quite a lot of ingredients inside the soup, fish balls, meat ball, sliced fish cakes, egg, lettuce etc. Very filling and yummy.
