Fish Soup Smile Mar 29, 2012

The fried fish soup here stands out for it’s soup but not the fish. I don’t mean that the fish is not fresh or has the fishy smell, but the fried fish is not crispy at all. The skin is not thick enough, the fish was just coated lightly with flour and fried for a quite a short time only. The soup is simply delicious, be sure to ask for milk for the soup, it smells nicer too!

Rojak! Smile Mar 29, 2012

A revisit to my favourite rojak stall at toa payoh, the queue for this plate of rojak is a pain to wait for but the aftermath is great on the stomach. I love how much peanuts they give for their rojak, so generous! The prawn paste is not too salty though the rojak is a little too sweet, so I’ll ask for lesser sugar next time round. You tiao and tau pok are all crispy too!

Awesome laksa that suits me best! The gravy is thick, lamek. Taste wise, the chilli paste is rather salty. The gravy by itself is a little salty already so if you're watching out for salt, cut down on the chilli paste. The cockles were quite fresh and chewy. Portion is huge! Worth every cent spent

So I gave this place another try for the food, it seems like nothing can go wrong when you order fried stuff. The fried chicken was decent. Crispy, tender chicken meat, not too oily and not dry. There's really nothing to complain. The potato salad is still as awesome and the fries were crispy. Yummy! Service is still as unattentive as usual, they really need to train the youngsters well....

Ordered a cup of earl grey milk tea with pearls for a hot hot day. Usually I don't order pearls but somehow today I feel like chewing something while having my bubble tea. The earl grey tasted okay, with sufficient sweetness and tea smell. The pearls were nice! Chewy, not too soft. The skin of the pearls were all intact and rounded.
