I can't believe I never spotted this mexican place while working in the vicinity until my friend introduced me to it. The place was rather conspicuous amidst the drinking holes around circular road, but its no fuss mexican food sure brings in the regulars.

I had the chicken mole, which seem rather interesting because it stated 'chocolate' as one of its ingredients. Being a chocolate lover, I knew i had to try it despite it sounding slightly weird in an otherwise savoury dish.

It was not too bad, you don't taste the chocolate much, although I can't really give the sauce a defined taste. I did however like the beans though, which goes quite well with the dish. Other wise, the chicken was rather tender, although the dish didn't remind me one bit of mexican cuisine except for the beans part.

I saw many other things other tables were eating which looked quite delicious. Will definitely come back to check it out.

Came here for a sunday walk from the mrt through the park to arrive here in half an hour's time. It was crowded on a sunday evening, as i can imagine probably 25% of the people in punggol came here to hang out, lol.

I like the fact that the restaurant is next to the reservoir, which gives the place a very serene feel. However, because it was so busy, you will need to wait often to catch the staff's attention.

Food quality is not bad, although I would say its a bit pricey with regards to where they are situated. Food variety is quite plentiful, including western delights and local dishes. We were feeling pretty hungry after our walk, so ordered the spicy NZ mussles to try out, coz we saw other tables and it was looking so delicious with the melted cheese on it. SO essentially, this dish is a kind of fusion, with mussels bakes with sambal and then cheese on top. I thought the flavour went pretty well together, although i think the mussels were not as fresh as it should be.

We also ordered the garlic bread to start, which was surprisingly good! Crispy and the garlic spreaad waas very flavourful.

For mains, I had the Jumbo chicken cheesy sausage, which was what its name suggested. It also came with a side of salad, which was actually the main reason why I ordered that. I wanted to order a fish but requested to change the potatoes to salad but they could not accede to that request(thumbs down for that).

My boyfriend ordered the barramudi, which came with rice and spicy sauce with some sauteed vegetables. It was good, and fish was quite a good portion as well.

Given that the restaurant is quite out of place, I might not go back soon, but because of the reasonable food and lovely atmosphere, I would recommend people to give it a try.

Ever since I saw that the cafe is opened, I really wanted to try it and here I am! Came here on a saturday afternoon and was pleased it was not crowded. And seriously, this will not be the last visit to this awesome cafe!

With the number of specialty cafe places coming up, its hard to discern who's good and who is serving a rip off your pockets for eggs. I super happy to have found my awesome cafe, because food was honest, tasty and comes at superbly reasonable prices!

I had the "my awesome salad".. man.. the quality of the food is great! The $15 salad came with greens, tomatoes, fat slices of smoked salon, thinly sliced chicken breast, duck rillettes(which i omitted) and avocados. This is THE DISH if you are looking for some healthy food with good quality protein and fats. I love it! Everything just tasted so clean yet tasty on its own lightly drizzled with olive oil with no overwhelming sauces to kill the freshness of the ingredients.

Coffee was good as well, though it lacked some kick somewhat.

My dining partner had scrambled eggs with salmon which was relatively cheap at $6,50, but the dish looked quite disappointingly 'home-made', with no greens and literally scrambled eggs which were a little too watery and bare slices of smoked salmon.

Another plus - staff are super friendly!

Menchie's is a new concept yogurt place where you pay for how much your yogurt weighs. I have been a big fan of yami yogurt and yoguru so being quite near where I stay and with the array of toppings you can add on, I was really excited to try Menchie's out.

Sadly, I find it a rip off and Im sure I am not the only one to feel this way about the place. Firstly, the cups they provided were of a huge size, which means it already weighs heavier than if I were to choose a smaller cup. Given the large cup, you do not have a good gauge of how much yogurt to take as well.

While i do like the fact that there's plenty of choices, I don't like how you do not have a gauge of how much it will weigh in the end.

In terms of flavours, I had the tart original, and its great coz you got sorbet for the healthy eaters, and you also have funky flavours like cappucino. I like the tart one, which is how i like my yogurt, a bit sour, and less creamy and more sorbet like.

For toppings, I had the nata de coco and walnuts, which were very delicious. They have aplenty to choose, chocolate wafers, sour candy belts, caramel sauce, fruits, granola's and nuts. But trust me, watch the portions! I was quite careful and my yogurt came up to $8.. thinking about it, I rather pay 2 meals at hawker centre!

Favourable Bar grub hangout! Smile Mar 20, 2014

This has got to be one of my favourite bars with good quality food and price to boot. Their signature dish is the Hainanese roast pork, and the really good stuff of this dish for me is the belachan chilli! Firstly, the pork is very juicy but the skin is so wonderfully crispy!! The chilli is abit like the traditional nyonya belachan.. so it gives the dish a very unique taste, especially when you pair it with beer!

The chicken wings is also a no-fail, because the marinate is well-done, flavourful and the skin is ever-so crispy.

I also ordered the garlic mussels.. it is very fragrant and the garlic takes away the 'fishiness' of the shellfish. I also like to add chilli to it as well. The mussels are very fresh, and what's great is that the dish is huge! I think the 3 dishes we ordered are good for 3 to 4 persons.. I felt it was abit too much for 2 person though.

Lastly, what i really love, is that theres no service charge here. Super cool and a huge plus!
