Frog leg hotpot OK Mar 05, 2013
Categories : Sichuan | Restaurant | Zi Char

It was a rainy night and this bullfrog leg hotpot really hit the spot. However, frog legs tend to be rather bony so it was quite a hassle to eat. However, the meat was tender and the gravy was dark, rich and flavourfull. We added tofu and vegetables to our dish, and overall it came up to $48 for 2 people. This includes 2 drinks - ice lemon tea and a can of coke as well. While I think it's a tad expensive (the sign outside claims to be $24 for a pot), this was a satisfying meal.

winter melon bbt OK Mar 05, 2013

The winter melon bubble tea is not too bad, although i personally find it to be not sweet enough. Also, the pearls are rather soft and have no bite to them. Over all, the milk tea is rather satisfying as it is the cheapest you can find in NTU. Price-wise, it is around 2 bucks. I would recommend it as a good perk-me-up during lecture breaks. There is also hardly ever any queue at this stall. Service is fast, and the aunty is friendly smile

Cheap yong tau foo Smile Mar 05, 2013

The yong tau foo here is average, something like what you can get anywhere else. I ordered 7 pieces of food, without noodles, and it cost $2.40. I felt that the fishcake was slightly salty, but that is my personal view. The soup was flavourful and shocked me a little because i expected the soup to be tasteless. Despite the queue being long, service was fast and i was done with my order in less than 2 minutes. Overall, it is a satisfying lunch and perfect for someone seeking to have a healthy fix.
