No Nonsense Ramen Smile Nov 30, 2010
Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Marutama ramen located at a quiet floor in Clarke quay central.
Its not a uncommon sight to see the small little ramen shop is crowded with ramen lovers!

Not your typical japanese raman which are heavy on salt content, the broth are really good and concentrated!
Noodles are al'dent and broth are consistently thick
Highlight of the meal - definitely it's their eggs!
Firm on the outside, soft inside - A masterpiece.

Absolutely worth the $12 + 1.

One of the top ramen shop on my ramen list.

Must try!

Halal buffet  Smile Nov 30, 2010

I went to Carousel with a group of my friends, with reservations booked for hi-tea at 3pm. The queue was already formed prior to the timing, and many people were already queuing there to get in. We were ushered to our seats, and we started to walk around the buffet area.

They had a wide spread of food, with a section for local cuisines as well as the Japanese area. We started with the sushi, as there was not much people around there, and they had a wide spread of salmon sashimi, and others like soba, udon etc. It was quite pleasing to the eye.

Moving on, we went to the local delights, where they had their usual, the dimsums as well as the noodles area, where we could choose to have the chef cook our noodles. It was also a wide spread, around 10+ different dishes. One good thing about this buffet was that there was this soup of the day, and it was not your usual western soup. We had herbal chicken soup, and it was really tasty!

Lastly, we saved our stomach for some dessert and tea. How can you say that your buffet hi-tea is over unless you had your tea? It was a nice get-together as well as great food for a value price there.

It's also one of the rare places that serves Halal buffet spread.

Aromatic milk tea  Smile Nov 30, 2010

I have visited 'Full House' a couple of times, and I think the only outlet is at Far East Plaza, near all your small eateries. One thing good about 'Full House' is that there are actual seats inside the shop, instead of you squatting outside, or finding seats else where at Far East Plaza.

They have a specialty which is called the Kung Fu Milk Tea, and I think it taste really good. There's a thick taste of the tea, so it really perks my day up, not to mention that the milk really makes it sweet... so yummy and sinful! It does not cost a lot as well, comparable to your local bubble tea shops.

I have not tried the other dishes as most of the people there are only drinking the Kung Fu Milk Tea, so I thought I would try it too. The other items on the menu does not look that appealing as most of them are just microwaved and can be easily bought else where.

Great Nai Cha (Milk Tea)!

Good enough bubble tea  Smile Nov 30, 2010

One thing I like about the Rivervale Outlet is that there's hardly any people queuing up for the bubble tea, so that's great. It saves me a lot of time from not queuing up.

I always go for my favourite bubble milk tea, as it's cheap, bigger cup than your usual bubble tea, as well as they are never stingy with the amount of pearls that they put in. It's a big cup of sinful delight! One thing also great is that I have also tried it with pudding and pearls, and it's heaven! The pudding really compliments the milk tea very well.

So far, I have also tried Green & Red Bubble Tea, and it's great when you want a refreshing feel, and not feeling too full as I often feel that I'm too full from the milk tea.

++ Value for money!! tongue

Ice SCREAM!!  Smile Nov 30, 2010

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato

I've bought Ben and Jerry tubs a lot of times home to savour, but decided one day at Vivo to sit there and enjoy the ice cream while watching the crowd go by. I've tried a few flavours before, but I'll just mention my MUST-TRYS.

MUST TRY 1: CHUNKY MONKEY

This is absolutely must try ice cream! It taste heavenly with the banana bits and walnuts! It's absolutely delicious! Every single bit of it lands to banana pieces and walnuts! Yum Yum! Calories wasted is well-worth.

MUST TRY 2: STRAWBERRY CHEESE CAKE

This absolutely really taste like the real cheesecake, just that it is in the ice cream form! It has real strawberry bits, with real graham cheese crackers in it! It's like the real cheese cake, just that it comes in a tub! Absolutely delicious!

As for the rest, I've tried a few, but it tasted pretty normal like other brands' ice cream, so I shall not recommend it here. But you must try the above 2. It's absolutely delicious and everytime when I visit the store, I'll have the scoops! Yum!
