Overated Nasi Lemak Cry Dec 31, 2010

I wonder what is the hype about whenever I saw the queues at this stall.
Queue will start to form up after 5pm till late night.
Among people whom I ask, they mentioned that their rice and chili are worth to queue for.
Perhaps not in my context.

They have good assortment of dishes to choose from.
But their selection are not really cheap.

A chicken wing, some anchovies and an egg will set you back about $4.00.
Portion are pathetically small.
Everything are just above average to me, including the rice and chili.

Definitely not worth queuing up for.
There are much more nasi lemak stalls out there.

Average Ban Mian OK Dec 31, 2010

Categories : Food Court | Noodles

It was a fine Sunday morning when I visited this stall for brunch.
Food price range for this coffeeshop are generally lower than the median price in Sengkang area since it's operate by NTUC. (I reckon rental are subsidized).

Where else you can find a cup of coffee for $0.60 in 2010 except school canteen?

Anyway, I ordered Ban Mian and they are really fast in preparing the stuff.
I cant believe that the enormous bowl of ban mian only cost $2.50, but perhaps the aunty was feeling generous for that specific day.

Taste wise, the soup broth is brew from ikan bilis based soup.
Homely feeling but the taste was a little bland for me.
The Ban Mian texture was a little tough for me (felt a little undercook), but still acceptable.

Overall, It's a very average meal that will meal your empty stomach to the brim.

I think for those who frequent T1 canteen, you wouldnt have missed this excellent stall out.

They serve a wide variety of fresh food at an affordable price, even when you're not entitled to any staff discount.
The 4 variety of food which includes, long bean, sweet&sour pork, beancurd w/salted egg and steam egg cost me only slightly over $3.
Absolute value for money.

In addition, do try out their claypot dishes !
Wonderful claypot rice they have.

Good Pau on the go! Smile Dec 31, 2010

Ho Kee's mince pork bun are one of my favorite breakfast whenever I'm on the rush in the morning.

Somehow, there pork buns differentiate itself from the usual steam bun in kopitiams.
Firstly, the ratio of lean and fat mince pork are rather consistent. Secondly, the buns are all made freshly everyday and you could really taste the tenderness and crunch of the fresh pork.
Seasoning are done to a right degree, not too overwhelming.
Bun are not too thick either, just right for me.

Lovely experience, average pasta OK Dec 31, 2010

Tucked at a corner of iluma, I dropped by here for a quick business lunch.
Ordered several pasta to be shared around, and I guess overall everything was decent, but none is outstanding that deserve a proper review.
Perhaps the minced beef Kimchi pasta which caught my attention the most. The rest I'll pass.

Pricing over there was typical casual dining cost. Average out to be $15.00++ per pax.
Environment is nice since there were not much people around.
Service waitress was pretty attentive.
