Beanstro Cry Jan 27, 2014

I've heard quite a number of good reviews about it so I've decided to give it a shot but it has disappointed me a lot.

As you know I'm a fan of sweet treats and cakes so I chose their opera cake which has been listed as the top seller. I had high expectations of it but upon my first mouth, I had the shock of my life. The sponge cake was very dry, the chocolate and nut batter can't even complement with each other.

I've no idea if it's just this cake that doesn't appeal to my liking, or it's just that day. But no, I'm never trying their desserts anymore.

espresSOUP Cry Jan 27, 2014

Visited there with my cousin and my sister on a random saturday night because that was one of the less crowded cafe.

Initially I didn't get why ain't there a crowd but now I do because it is a food and beverage line but there was NO GOOD service from them at all. They got our orders wrongly and actually took more than 30 mins to serve the quesadillas! To be honest, the food are damn average and you can definitely find better soup at soup spoon instead of here. Portion is rather small and not filling.

This has disappointed me a lot for a soup lover like me.

Dim Sum High Tea Buffet Cry Jan 22, 2014

Settled for high tea buffet at Lao Beijing on a random afternoon when we couldn't decide on what to have.

I've actually tried this for numerous times however, this doesn't taste as good as before. Probably because it's a buffet and there isn't much quality. I would say nothing much appeal to my liking and I'd give it a miss even though it's very affordable.

Assorted macarons OK Jan 28, 2014

As I was craving for some macarons, the nearest I could find was pique nique and thus I decided to give them a try. I've ordered a few different flavours, lemon, strawberry, salted caramel, chocolate, peanut butter jelly and red velvet. Honestly, all these can't be compared to those at canele and TWG. The only two which I think are not bad at pique nique are chocolate and salted caramel, the rest are just mediocre. The shells are pretty stiff and it doesn't melt in your mouth. I would spend more on better quality macarons!

Eggs Benedict

Eggs Benedict

Arbite is quite a charming little place right smack in the middle of Serangoon Gardens Circus. You climb upstairs and if you're lucky, a nice window seat will let you have a good view of the circus outside.

What attracted me there was that they serve all day breakfast!

The Eggs Benedict which I had was done with prosciutto instead of regular ham, and together with the eggs and hollandaise sauce, but I felt it was rather run of the mill. However my friend commented that the salad that she had was done with fresh vegetable and really sweet tomatoes.
