Watami Smile Dec 13, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Sushi/Sashimi

My friend and I decided to settle down at ion's watami for lunch as it has a special lunch promotion. I ordered the prawn lunch set while my friend ordered the pork lunch set which comes along with salad, miso soup and drink. Salad was served earlier as the appetizer and it tasted pretty good as I'm not a salad lover. The rest were served soon after the salad and we realized that we had to cook the lunch ourselves. They provided us with egg and they helped us to switch on the stove. So my friend and I tried to cook that ourselves and it was really a great experience! We had our first bite and it was 'wow'! The egg was blended well with the sauce and the meat tasted really good beside that it's a little salty. Ambience is really good as it's not noisy and the service was very good as well as waitress and waiter are very willing to help you. Affordable place for lunch at town definitely!

Kura Ramen Smile Dec 13, 2011

Birthday lunch at kura ramen quite sometime back. Kura provides a wide variety choice of ramen and sides to go along with the ramen. I've chosen the salty soup base ramen that comes along with chicken karage and tea. The ramen tasted just nice and chicken karage tasted good too. However the tea gave me a shock as it was so bitter and I had to ask for plain water. We ordered gyoza which tasted great as well! Service was really good, the waitress will always give us a smile while she served us. Great place to have an affordable ramen in town!

Ji de chi dessert Smile Dec 13, 2011

My friend and I decided to have some dessert after lunch and so we decided to try the desserts at ji de chi. Both of us ordered snow ice, mine's passion fruit with mango and hers strawberry. The strawberry flavour tasted quite normally but passion fruit with mango was simply way too awesome. As passion fruit is one of my favourite fruits and that it's quite a rare flavour in singapore, ji de chi has definitely won half the battle. Snow ice is very smooth and the toppings - small cut mangoes, nata de coco and passion fruit syrup balls that come along with the snow ice are really good! Ambience was great as well as we dined in during the non-peak hour. Ji de chi is definitely a super worth it dessert cafe!

Coffee club OK Dec 13, 2011

My friend and I decided to drop by coffee club as we had the 1-for-1 coupon for lunch. My friend ordered rose mary chicken while I ordered herb & cheese fish. This is my second time trying at the same place but it didn't taste as good as the first, maybe due to the lunch crowd. Nevertheless I still like how the fish can blend well together with the cheese and herb. The sides - carrot and vegetables are quite fresh but it will be better if there's a choice of fries or mash potato to go along with. Service is not as good as it's during lunch hour.

Yoguru Smile Nov 25, 2011

Frozen yoghurt with mochi!

Frozen yoghurt with mochi!

This is the first my friends and I were trying yoguru frozen yoghurt! We wanted to have yoghurt and heard from others that yoguru's yoghurt is affordable and has a huge serving. Yes and we were really appalled by the huge serving. We ordered a small size and it was like a medium to large serving! However the flavours are very limited, only the original flavour and promegranade flavour, thus we had a mixture of it since it's our first time trying. The orginal flavour tasted more milky while the promegranade flavour tasted more sour which made up to a balanced taste. They have a wide range of toppings, from mochi to nuts to fruits to fruity pebbles and alot more! We ordered our favourite mochi toppings to go along with the yoghurt! But I would encourage people not to order mochi with yoghurt after a heavy meal because your tummy will surely explode! Besides that, service is really good but it's a pity that it's a small kiosk and doesn't have any seats for us to sit down and chill.
