was at the raffles area so went down to lau pa sat for lunch. tried the a1 porridge store before and the porridge was nice so decided to order the claypot chicken to try. compare to the nice porridge, the claypot rice was quite disappointing. the chicken portion was really little, can barely find more than 3pieces of chicken, the rice portion was also little and only tasted salty.
seriously, for this store only the porridges are nice but other dishes i think are not that worth to try

among the different porridges available, the hong kong style porridge looked most appealing so gotten it for lunch. when the staff served me the porridge, the claypot did not look too big to me but the actual portion was actually not little. the porridge include fish slices, cuttlefish and some ikan bilis like small fishes. the porridge itself was quite smooth and because of the claypot, the porridge stayed hot throughout the whole time when i was eating

the weather was so hot so gotten an ice cream to cool myself down. there was quite a number of flavours to choose from but i gotten the cookie dough to try since the staff said is a new flavour. i found this flavour not too bad, quite creamy but tasted very similar to cookie and cream except for extra bits of dough inside the ice cream.

ordered the button mushroom to try since the picture looked very nice from the menu. the mushroom looked very nice as they were all fried to perfection and was really piping hot when served. the mushroom inside was still juicy while crispy on the outside. the mushroom also tasted nice when dipped into the sauce. although the mushroom were nice, i think the price was quite expensive

went down to try the new york new york cheeseburger. the burger was slightly smaller than i thought and the patty was quite nice and juicy. but i guess is the cooking method that the beef patty was slightly red but i guess it was still cooked. but my girlfriend did not like it cause she doesnt like "uncook" beef. since the burger was bigger than normal burgers from the fast food, it was quite hard to eat with the fork and knife so had to eat with hand so would be quite messy after that
