I was at Nex with my boyfriend and he wanted to have xiao long bao's so we went into Din Tai Fung. I ordered DTF's famous chicken soup with noodles while my boyfriend ordered 2 servings of xiao long bao's.The chicken soup was a real winner. It was rich and full of flavour. A little oily for my liking but overall a very tasty soup. The chicken was cooked very well, the meat was still soft and succulent when I bit into it and all the herbs in the soup had given it a rich flavour. I would definitely order this dish if I went back again.

I was at Bugis Junction with my boyfriend and we decided to try this cafe that we had walked past on previous occasions. It is tucked into an innocuous corner and didn't seem to promise much but there was a 20% discount on all items in the menu (only between 3- 5.30pm) so we gave it a try.

Each main comes with a mushroom soup that contain salmon chunks and 2 sides (i.e. fries, potato wedges, potato salad, garden salad, onion rings). We ordered a grilled chicken chop with mushroom sauce and fish and chips. And an additional plate of fried calamari rings.Likes
The grilled chicken chop mushroom sauce had a certain oomph that I haven't tasted at other places before. The meat was also succulent and soft.

Dislikes
A charge of 30 cents for a cup of ice water (that's probably from the tap). I feel restaurants should never charge patrons for water, especially when there is a 10% service charge.

Spending: About $27

Headed down to Wild Honey on a Sunday night and surprisingly there wasn't a long queue. Decided to try the Canadian breakfast option. It consisted of 3 pancakes with butter and syrup and a small serving of bacon. Honestly, this was not Wild Honey's best dish. I definitely would not eat this dish again if I went back.Why? The pancakes were mediocre at best, there were not fluffy nor tasty. Also, the syrup fell flat. It was not full flavour enough for me, I guess I like my syrup sweet or to at least have some taste. The serving of bacon was also very small. Overall, the whole meal was not worth the amount of money that I had paid. Would probably have preferred pancakes from another place.

Headed down to the Longbeach at Dempsey with my family as it was my parents' wedding anniversary. My family has a few favourites at Longbeach:
-The crispy fried chicken
- Wasabi mayo prawns
- Steamed fishThe wasabi prawns remain a hot favourite of mine and I was practically in heaven when I bit into the fried yet succulent prawn that was coated in wasabi mayo. It was served with strips of honeydew which made the prawn taste even sweeter when you eat it together.

The crispy chicken and steamed fish are regular items that we usually order when at Longbeach. They won't disappoint! On top of those 3 dishes we also ordered iron plate tofu and xiao bai cai in a thick mushroom broth.

It's a little pricey for food that could be eaten elsewhere but we had good service and a lovely ambience so it was well worth the money.

Swee Choon remains a favourite for me when I have a craving for dim sum. Headed there for dinner with my boyfriend's family and we ordered quite a spread.

The egg tarts are a must try. It's crisp and crunchy when you bite into it. Other items I would recommend ordering are:
- Siew mai
- Liu Sha Bao
- Seafood hor fun
- Har gaoSwee choon pretty much as the normal spread any dim sum serving Cantonese restaurant would have. But the 2 things that makes it stands out from the rest is it's cheap affordable prices and that it is still open after midnight.
