The queue for all the restaurants in JEM is super long, including Gurney Drive. We waited around 15 minutes before we were seated. I decided to give their satay a try, there was only six sticks. we ordered the chicken satay, it was very meaty. there were no fatty meats at all which was very good. they marinated it really well. it was not too oily as well. the sauce was very thick and delicious too. it was grilled perfectly, no charred bits at all!

I went to Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks at around 9 plus to get myself a bowl of their oyster mee sua. i was so lucky, the auntie told be she only have one bowl left, but after checking the pot, she said the mee sua is only enough to fill about three quarter so she offered to give me more ingredients to make up the difference. as i am not really a big eater, i thought it was fine. she practically emptied the entire container of shredded chicken in, gave me five oysters instead of three. i was pretty much filled up by the shredded chicken. i felt the gravy of the mee sua was really good, i asked for extra chilli and vinegar, i think it gave the mee sua more flavour.

It is only at Ananas Cafe where you can find so cheap chicken rice. One package only $2, but the portion is a little small, as i am not really a big eater, the portion was just right to fill my tummy. i like their rice, not too oily, very strong chicken rice fragrance. the chicken is very tender, i like the roast chicken, the meat is very tender and juicy. it was really satisfying for me.

I was called up to an impromptu meet up with my friends, as i already eaten dinner, i suggested we ordered a plate of drumlets to share with those who had already eaten. their drumlets are one of the best i have eaten, it was marinated with this spicy and sour sauce. when they first laid the plate on the table, i was quite shock how it appeared, an overturn bowl and wet wipes on top. it was so considerate of the people to give us a bowl for the bones. this drumlets were to be eaten with some sour cream sauce, it further enhance the flavours.

This place is bustling with people coming for supper. i met my mother to accompany her for her late dinner at about 10.30pm and families were streaming in non stop. i think this is one of the few restaurants open at night. I already eaten my dinner so i only ordered their iced milk tea. i love the nostalgic feel they try to create by putting their milk tea in a metal cup. the milk tea is very fragrant and smooth. it was not too sweet as well.
