Dallas Restaurant & Bar opens their second outlet at Suntec City. Away from the bustles of their first outlet at Boat Quay, Dallas Restaurant & Bar offers a myriad of bar bites, wines and beer while also serving good ole american meat.

Housed in a glass house styled interior, this indoor cum al fresco space serves up a treat.

While you have your beers and alcohol, Dallas Restaurant & Bar offers finger food which are irresistibly good. the Snapper Fish Tacos ($8) and Pork Belly Tacos ($7) relives the hunger during Happy hour.

If you're in for something heavier though, do try the meat platter here at Dallas. The platter goes at $70 for two or $130 for three. Given the size of the portion and how affordable it is, the number of pax must be strictly adhered too.

Montana Brew Bar @ POMO (Part 2) Smile Aug 02, 2015

So have you heard, Montana Brew Bar now offers burgers to compliment their menu of waffles. Popped by to try out their affordable yet flavourful items.

Truffle Egg Burger

That egg, the piece of melted cheese above the decent chunk of beef patty. Grab it together and take a bite. Shiok I tell you.

Umami Burger

Miso shitakae mushrooms sautéed perfectly, topped above that beef patty. My favourite amongst the burgers. See that generous amount of mushrooms - generous yet just nice.

Pesto Chicken Burger

Chicken, pesto and corn. Something on the safe side. I felt flavours were lacking. Nonetheless, a safe bet in a menu of beef patties.

Thai Lemongrass Prawn Burger

Lemongrass prawn patty married with fresh onions and cubes of mango. drizzled with some green curry dressing. A great mix and a seafoody experience.

Categories : Spanish | Bars/Lounges | Paella

Definitely not 'Free of Charge'. FOC (pronounced as fock and represents fire in spanish) is a contemporary Spanish tapas bar set in the heart of Hong Kong Street, delighting after work goers with their selection of good food, music and most importantly alcohol.

Was here on a tuesday night and boy was it crowded. Very typicality like of restaurants around the cbd but a good indication that you'll be in for a good time.

What did we have?

Grilled Iberico Pork ribs w Smoked Pumpking Puree

Tender, juicy but a long wait for this dish. Flavours were there but I didn't manage to catch much of the smokiness on the pumpkin.

Mushroom Croquettes

One is not enough. You'll need a second serving, a third or maybe you'll be able to wipe off the dish. Mushroom can be evidently found inside and the taste marries well with the potato. Crispy exterior, moist interior.

Squid Ink Paella

One of the best i've eaten. The seafood were fresh and cooked perfectly. The grains were consumed with the rich black squid ink. Very satisfying indeed.

Pulled Pork Taco

Certainly a different take on the normal pulled pork. Unique I must say. Taste wise, it was average and I still prefer the ones marinated in BBQ sauce and served in chunkful. This was rather small and very unsatisfying. You need more than 2, but it will bust your budget.

Another K BBQ for the korean fans but this is no ordinary korean BBQ. 8 Korean BBQ at The Central, Clarke Quay throws up this assortment of premium BBQ meat. Synonymous with name the restaurant's name, the 8 Color set features pork like you have never seen them before.

What did we have ?

The 8 color set of course! At $98, it comes with a kimchi stew and 8 different types of pork. The pig marinated in 8 different ways - original, wine, ginseng, garlic, herb, curry, miso and red pepper paste.

My favourite, the black pepper and wine marinate were mouth watering when grilled.

no need to teach you how to eat - wrap the cooked slices on the fresh lettuce and mix with some kimchi.

Hyde and Co @ North Bridge Road Smile Jun 22, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : French | Café | Brunch

As you explore the precinct of Kampong Glam and North Bridge Road, you'd chanced upon this tiny whitish cafe situated along the main road - Hyde and Co. A unique name, a name of tea parties and childhood storybooks, we were amazed by the interior of this almost a 9 month old cafe.

Tea

Personally not a tea lover but they serve a variety of teas. Floral, fruity, hot or cold, they have a selection to choose from here.

Besides, their tea, they serve an extensive brunch menu too:

The Big Ben

Poached eggs, mushrooms and a drizzle of hollandaise works for me anytime. Yes, i am talking about the egg benedict.

Speedy Gonzales

Prolly its name is derived by the speed that you can finish this plate. Easy to eat, roll it up and bite. Braised bbq pork with scrambled eggs and guacamole. The flavours don't complement each other though.

The full works

The typical full breakfast. Average.

Waffles!!

The waffles are different and not the norm. A take on Hyde's uniqueness. I must say I love the toasted marshmallows on the waffles.
