The ever famous ribs from Bali has landed on the shores of Singapore. Yeap, I am talking about Naughy Nuri's! Indonesia's reknown bbq glazed pork ribs opens at Capitol Piazza. Pork ribs are one of my favourite food and after hearing of the opening, decided to venture there during their first couple days.

How was it ? Well, compared to the Naughty Nuri in Bali, it was so much more expensive. LOL! However, this is probably one of the better places to get your ribs now in Singapore.

We ordered the full rack which cost about $35 (pretty decent serving and pricing). The meat slid off the bones and were tender and very flavourful.

We followed up with some Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and sides like fries, corncob and skin. Besides the pork, the other items were rather average. Fries though was one of the better sides that came out from the kitchen.

amber nectar @ robertson quay Smile Jun 08, 2015
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : German | Bars/Lounges

Since its launch in 2013, Amber Nectar has been offering beer lovers a range of almost 20 types of beers and quality bar food.

As of May, this pub, located in robertson walk courtyard will be launching - beer growlers. Was lucky to be invited for their launch and witness the whole growling process.

What is a beer growler?

this almost 4 pints bottle can is the perfect party partner. Bring it long during house parties and everyone can enjoy beer fresh from the tap.

Otherwise, you can just sit in amber nectar and have a pint or two pints with yummy bar food.

if you haven't found a good place for spam fries, this would be it. Crispy and not oily, very good accompaniment for their craft beers.

Do.Main @ tanjong katong Smile Apr 05, 2015

Categories : Bakery | Café

As you walk down or drive pass tanjong katong, you will notice this monochromed, black and white like bakery along one of the shophouses. If you are curious enough to explore, you will find that it is actually a french bakery called Do.Main.

The brainchild of baker chef Frederic Deshayes, do.main serves up artisan bread and pastries. as well as savoury items for breakfast lunch and dinner.

What did I try ?

The cream puff aka Paris- Brest

Rare for me to post my favourite item as the first dish, but i can't seem to help it. The crisp exterior with that very tasty cream. I can have 3 at one go.

Charcuterie Platter

A combination of duck & pistachio pate, pork rillette and kurobuta ham. Sourdough bread is served together for the platter and that is when bread and meat comes together. Simply adored the kurobuta ham as well as the pate. Quite filling so its worth to share.

Tartiflette “Reblochon” with bacon and potato

The pungent cheese was overwhelming to an extent. aside, it was a good compliment with the breads that were available. that bacon gave the dish this porkish salty flavour marrying well with the potatoes.

Broken eggs

Coming in two flavours - sour cream or tomato, these are essentially the french version of our half boiled eggs but baked in an oven. The reason it is called broken eggs is because one has to use that stick bread and rigorously mix the contents together. A different take but for the price, i would rather have our kopitiam soft boiled anyday.

The elicars

They have a variety of flavours to choose for the elicars. I chose salted caramel and it didn't disappoint.

Cassolette oven baked escargots

Have never been a fan of snails, but this left me wanting for more. The homemade butter garlic blends well with the shallots. A very surprisingly find here. Chef Frederic Deshayes himself posing for us

23 Jumpin @ Tai Seng Smile Feb 23, 2015

Categories : Café | Brunch

In the heart of the industrial estate at Tai Seng sprouts a cafe - 23Jumpin. Meant to serve the needs of hungry factory workers looking for something different in the neighbourhood, this family run F&B is slowly ringing bells around the cafe scene.

The Coffee

Serving pretty good coffee as well as ice chocolate. You can even pose for a picture with the iconic 23Jumpin scooter just outside the cafe.

Eggs Ben

Decent eggs ben served. Nothing much yo shout about, although i like that the holladndaise sauce given was just right, not too much, yet enough to taste the eggs ham and leaves.

Duck Confit

The mash was a winner. The duck differs from many, having a more stewed skin den a crispy one. Flavours were good and the gravy coming from the slow cooked duck leg after 6 hours was mouth watering.

Pizza Waffle (5Hands)

a full 5 hands because of the sheer creativity done to a waffle. this is a waffle topped with pizza ingredients and served as a waffle pizza. I liked how the batter was fragrant and yet could complement the flavours of the Hawaiian and the mushroom cheese. I was told that it took hours of practise and loads of feedback to get it to this quality. kudos and i must say 23 Jumpin is bringing waffles to another level.

Tiramisu

Nothing much to rave about this. Average, really average.

chabuton @ somerset 313 Smile Feb 10, 2015

Categories : Japanese | Ramen

Only available for a limited period of time i.e. 17 Jan to 31 March 2015, Chabuton introduces to ramen lovers - The Kurobuta. Currently having 3 outlets at Somerset 313, Tampines 1 and Star Vista, diners get to enjoy this exquisite dish created by Chef Yasuji Morizumi.

The Kurobuta

A blend of chicken collagen and tonkotsu soup, it was recommended that you shouldn't mix the whole dish when served. At $18.90, it justified its price and tag and gives leaves diners with the satisfied take away.
