This Italian restaurant was previously on Craig Road and shifted to their new premises 3 months ago.
They are now located directly oppositely Police Cantonment Complex and easily accessible by MRT if you are travelling by public transport.
The restuarant is able to seat about 30 pax, has a high ceiling with warm lighting and is cosy.
I came by this restaurant for lunch and had their Prawn and Clam Pasta with Italian Fish Roe. It was served in a unique herring-bone shaped plate. The noodles were al dente and has a good bite. The cut prawns and clams gave a natural sweetness and natural flavour to the pasta dish. The sauce was also unique. I tasted minced pork and dried shrimp with each mouthful. Overall, the dish was delicious.
In the front of the restaurant is a plaque that is issued by the Italian embassy that certifies that produce used in the restuarant is 100% Italian. A mark of confidence.
After dining here, I can say that the food quallity is there and I will be back here soon enough.

Noodles with Home Made Fish Balls Smile Nov 14, 2014

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

On weekends, this stall has a queue about 8 - 10 people deep, which may take 15 minutes for you to wait to get your order.
As it was a weekday, I chanced a short queue at this stall and I quickly seized the opportunity to get my food.
I ordered the dry Mee Pok (Thin yellow noodles) with chilli. It came with a bowl of soup with 3 fishballs and several slices of fish cake.
The noodles were al dente and was tasty with the chilli, fried shallots and pork lard. The fish balls are slightly bigger than normal and irregularly shaped, indiating that they are made by hand and not machine-made. The fishballs had a good bite to it and were not bad.
The owner was also invited to suport Singapore Day overseas, where a big carnival is held overseas in a big city like London/ Melbourne to allow overseas Singaporeans to come together, network and celebrate their Singapore roots. at the carnival, skits and food are provided, allowing Singaporeans living overseas to reminise the food from Singapore that they miss eating.
They also have a stall at Redhill Hawker Centre that is run by the stall owners daughter and son-in-law.
Try it!

Good Yogurt Dessert Smile Nov 14, 2014
Categories : Frozen Yogurt

I tried it for the first time recently and I had the yoghurt with mixed fruit jam topping.
The joghurt was nice and tasty. The jam added a nice berry flavour. I wished the jam was less thick and mixed into the yoghurt to give it a more even flavour.
My colleague who had the bigger cup with crunchy Granola bits and cut fruits in it. Will try that the next time, and also when the queue is not so long.

Categories : Chinese | Hawker Centre | Porridge/Congee

The store owner used to own Teck Hin Hor Fun in Ghim Moh till a few years ago when he sold the business.
He now runs this congee stall that also sells steamed items such as Chee Cheong Fun and Glutinous Rice.
I frequent this stall almost every weekend.
My favorite orders are:
- Chee Cheong Fun: Plain chee cheong fun steamed and the chef adds his fried garlic infused oil over it. Just eaten on its own, its tasty enough. You also get the usual brown sweet sauce and chilli on the side. You can opt for 2 or 3 rolls of chee cheong fun.
- Glutinous Rice: This is very tasty and has dried shrimp and chinese sausage in it. Topped with fried shallots and fried peanuts Its very good!
- Congee: The congee is very smooth, typical of the ones you eat at fine Cantonese restaurants. You have a choice of Century Egg with pork or Fish. Both are good. Its sold for $1.80 and really value-for-money!
Highly recommended!

Good Kway Chap at Ang Mo Kio! Smile Nov 12, 2014

Categories : Singaporean | Coffeeshop | Noodles

A friend of mine brought me here for lunch recently and I was in for a treat.
This kway chap stall is located in a food court located at the bottom of a HDB black. This is also the car park that serves the popular Mellben crab beehoon that has a strong following.
The queue was about 8 people deep and it took about 10 minutes before it was our turn to order. It's self service, so you have to take the food to your own table.
Here are the highlights of our meal:
- Pork innards and egg: No off-putting smell/ taste when you bite into the large intestines, which means its well-cleaned and it was also well braised in the soya sauce. It is good!
- Mixed Platter (Small Intestines, Tau pok, pork belly): We fininshed everything on the plate. Nice!
- Salted Vegetables: Small serving for two of us. But it was more than sufficient. It was saltier than the ones I ate elsewhere and it was stewed with pork belly.
- The Kway (Flat White noodles): It was good and I had a second bowl! Recommended to eat as fast as you can, as it turns dry even though it is soupy.
The food is good and I will definitely be back again.
They also sell mixed pork soup and have white rice, if you are not into noodles.
Highly recommended!
