Satay time Cry Oct 11, 2012

Categories : Malay | Hawker Centre

Since Hubby works in Raffles place, Satay is a common dinner starter for us quite often. This time he picked up some Satay from Asli Satay club. He picked up beef, chicken & duck. We couldn't wait till he got home & unpacked it & we attacked it with the yummy peanut sauce. The chicken which I am usually not so fond of was good & well done, duck too was great, but this time the beef was really rubbery & tough & not really well done. Beef Satay being our favourite, we were disappointed this time sad. Price i guess is 6$ for 10 sticks.

Fishy dinner Cry Mar 28, 2012

Categories : European | Bars/Lounges

After we got back from a holiday, my husband was to attend a meeting with a client at Bunker bar & bristro, so he rushed there from the airport. An interesting looking restaurant - right next to the Johor Battery. He met the client & ordered for a beer & a grilled fish. It was served with some greens & tarter sauce. It looked presentable, but once he tasted it, it wasn't all that great. it was soggy, not well cooked, bland & low on salt. He wasn't able to finish it, since it would be wasted he packed it for me,thinking I'll like it,as Im a seafood fan. But my opinion too stands the same. The client had ordered for fish & chips & he too din't enjoy it and said the fish was not at all crisp, but soggy. The food was a disappointment.

One day,as I was passing by 8 tart, the smell of the tarts was so tempting, that i decided to buy an egg tart. I picked a plain & a chocolate egg tart. Since I've eaten egg tarts in Macau,I expected these to taste similar, but I was really disappointed. They didn't taste good at all, that I threw it away aftet having the first 2 bites.

Some time back when I visited Little India I stopped by City Square all for some shopping & happened to pass by Fancy Delights & stopped the eye catching tarts on display. They have such a variety of fancy looking tarts. So i decided to buy a normal egg tart. it costs about 1.5 $. I opened it as soon as it was handed over to me & dug my teeth into it. The tart was nice & crunchy, where as the filling was slightly sweet & was filed with egg. However there was lesser filling inside, compared to what I expected. But overall it was a tasty tart.

Tea time OK Jul 29, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Ice Cream and Gelato

I tried out the Iced matcha tea from Imayu Hokkaido Ice cream one evening. It was available at a kiosk for just 2 $. It was cold, refreshing, not too sweet, but I din't like it so much, I am not so found of Japanese tea, maybe hence I did not like the macha tea so much. However my hubby liked it & had 2 cups of it smile. It was not liquidy, it was more like a iced slush with macha green tea flavor. Its nice for people who like that flavor
