The one important question on the minds of carrot cake lovers is- white or black? At this stall, you no longer have to answer this divisive question- the stall fries out a version, containing both black and white carrot cake. I decided to try this combination ($3 per plate) and was rather delighted at having a variety to eat from. Service was relatively quick perhaps because there wasn't many orders when I visited and each plate is fried on the spot by the uncle. 

The radish cake bits were fried to perfection with many egg bits and crunchy chai poh. The steamed radish were relatively soft and chewy and not too oily- which makes this dish so delicious when served piping hot. The black fried carrot is coated with a layer of black sauce which makes it tastier and sweeter. The white carrot cake is plain and a more bland, which will definitely appeal to people who prefer the simple, original form. Carrot cake served here is tasty although I wish they were more generous with the spring onions.

A bowl of minced meat noodles is perhaps one of the most homely, comforting food to have. This stall offers their minced meat noodles in soup or dry versions and I decided to opt for a small bowl of  soup noodles ($2.50). Service was relatively quick (perhaps because there weren't many customers). Served in traditional bowls, the noodle soup was not overly flavorful. There was some hint of pork broth in the soup, but otherwise it's rather bland. There were rather scant ingredients- noodles, minced meat and two wantons. The noodles are the highlight for me- it's the yellow chewy QQ noodles that are I really enjoyed with the minced meat. There seemed to be rather few bits of minced meat- I realized it's found in the bottom of the bowl- so stir your noodles well to fully enjoy this dish!

Was passing by the area and happened to spot this shop selling kueh kueh at a booth area in a coffee shop. What attracted me to the shop was the exotic flavors of ondeh ondeh available- (yam and Belgian chocolate!) but I decided to just try their original gula Melaka flavour ($2) first. I was thoroughly impressed by the thicky, chewy potato flour dough that wraps the gula sweet and fragrant gula Melaka filling. Usually the filling is almost liquid in other shops, but I realized this shop'a version is semi liquid- there is some gula residue (sugar?) that you can taste. 

There are other kuehs available and I got some rainbow kueh and kueh salat ($2.50) which were also rather delicious. I particularly enjoyed the combination of sweet and salty taste combined by the paste and rice!

I have been reading good reviews about their signature product and I jumped at the chance of ordering their Chococro when I passed by. At $2.40 a piece, the petite conical shaped pasty seemed pricey. But tasting is believing- each bite of the croissant reveals its crispy, buttery taste. The chocolate core inside is of a nice bittersweet taste- evidence of use of quality dark chocolate ingredient. The chococro is enjoyable and definitely goes well with a nice cup of coffee!

Have been recommended to this shop for gelato, so I decided to give it a go. I selected their pistachio single scoop ice cream in a cup ($4.50). The scoop was bursting with rich nutty pistachio flavor, something that is usually missing in other ice cream joints. The ice cream texture was also soft but it's densely packed into a cup. Will definitely try other flavours in future!
