Swensen's Cafe Restaurant  OK Nov 17, 2010

Categories : Ice Cream and Gelato | Pasta | Steaks and Grills | Halal

Went Swensen's for ice-cream with a friend as we were craving for sweet stuff to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Service staff were unfriendly and slow when serving and attending to our requests.

As it was almost dinner time, the restaurant was pack with people, considering that the outlet in Junction 8 was quite small.

We had a variety of flavours for the ice-cream which tasted average.

Good place to consider when you are on a food budget.

There are three seatings:
1) 5pm - 7.30pm
2) 7.45pm - 10pm
3) 10.15pm -12.30pm

Steamboat Ingredients: Fresh Prawns, Beef/Mutton/Pork/Chicken, Salmon Balls, Fish Balls, Golden Mushroom, Beancurd, Seaweed, Liver and Vegetables etc.

Desserts: Beancurd, Red Bean Jelly and Crystal Chilled Jelly

Free flow of Xiao Long Baos - 5 pieces per basket. Quality of xiao long bao is bad as the skin were torn and most of the soup flowed out.

Reservation is a MUST! Be disappointed if you did not make a reservation as the restaurant is too small to accomodate walk in customers.

This is my first time at Trattoria Lafiandra al Museo.

The food is too overprice for the quality and portion of it. Went with 3 other colleagues for lunch and all of us ordered the Seafood Risotto as that was the recommended dish. Ordered calamari for starter and the calamari only arrived together with the Risotto. Isn't it supposed to be starter?

The service staff was blur and could not response to most of our queries, the staff needed to check and get back to us most times.

Ambience is peaceful and quiet as there was not much crowd. Probably because of the small area space of the restaurant, there was a strong stench of cooking oil smell.

Price: around $35 per pax.

The Soup Spoon dinner  OK Nov 16, 2010

The soup spoon is really healthy, the soups are light, salads are fresh.. but they do keep your tummy filling.

I'm a big fan of soups as they are light for late meals. I went to the Raffles City outlet at 9pm on a Monday and there was still a small crowd. It was easy to get seats as it was late.

Soup is consistently good and serving size is sufficient. Had the Roasted pumkin and almonds, and my friend had the Chicken and mushroom soup.

Nice hangout spot for quick dinner or lunches.

Price is considerably cheap... depending on the choice of order. Around $7 per pax for a bowl of soup.

I love the fruit soya bean in Mr Bean, they taste great as they are not sweet. The papaya taste the best and I ordered that with ice blended. It costs $2 per cup, quite reasonable price for a cup of drink. The pancakes taste great too with a variety of flavours to choose from. Mr Bean is located almost everywhere in Singapore, therefore it is easy to locate the shop.
