Peppermint milk tea. Cry Jul 31, 2011

There are actually two bubble tea stalls in Nanyang Poly, the other one is Each A Cup, but The Tea Memory is in the central and being lazy, I thought I would just grab a cup from here to satisfy my bubble tea craving. I had the peppermint milk tea with pearls. The drink was overly powdery, sweet and the pearls tasted strangely starchy though pearls are made out of starch to begin with, but still........

Horrible.

fish soup. Cry Jul 29, 2011

I ordered a seafood fish soup with rice as I wanted something soupy for my dinner after a long day.

The soup was served in a metal hot pot steam boat style. It looked interesting and was served boiling hot. I waited for it to cool down a little, only to be disappointed with its taste.

The soup smelled really fishy and bad. The fish slices weren't fresh either. It was funny in a negative way on the overall.

One word: Horrid. Cry Jul 28, 2011

I now have a bad experience of Go India although I don't know if that is a fair judgment because my first time trying Go India's food was from an Express outlet.

I ordered the chicken biryani, which was served in a plastic take away box except without the lid because I had it dined in. Firstly, it took them 20 minutes to get my food ready and next, what shocked me was that my chicken biryani appeared to not have any real, full piece chicken, in fact I didn't see no chicken, only to have the staff said that the chicken were inside the rice.

Yes, and so there were bits of chicken hidden within the rice grains but that's about it, probably around 5 tiny bite sized pieces. The gravy was watery too and the side vegetables were overly raw.

Bad, horrible.

first and last time. Cry Jun 25, 2011

A cafe tucked at a corner of The Cathay basement, directly facing the ticket booth.

I went for the teriyaki grilled chicken that came with 2 sides, as how western main courses usually do. For this it was served with a few pieces of lettuce with an overdose of salad dressing and an over-baked mini jacket potato with horrible sour cream and 'fake' bacon bits. I call the bacon bits that come out of a bottle fake as real western restaurant make their own bacon bits. Those are awesome.

Frankly, the teriyaki grilled chicken was terrible. 1) It was served at room temperature. 2) The chicken skin seemed to be fried and soaked in oil. 3) The chicken meat was really fatty yet bland. 4) The teriyaki sauce didn't make any difference.

Service was not prompt either. Summing up, II wouldn't want to come back here again.

Eggless cake. Cry Jun 07, 2011

Categories : Bakery

My sister came home with a slice of the mini eggless Emicake. I suppose the unique feature of this cake is that it's 'EGGLESS' as printed in caps on the plastic cover itself and stated that it's a healthier choice.

I'm not sure how they actually bake it without any egg because does that mean that more shortening is used? If so, how could it be a healthier choice? Nevertheless, I tucked in. It was a coffee flavored cake, pretty alright I'd say. The coffee aroma wasn't strong though and the cake didn't have a soft/moist texture, in fact it tasted like it was a day or two old.
