(not) Super Dog. OK May 25, 2011

Something like a fresh face to us, this fast food outlet is located on the food basement of 313 @ Somerset, a rather quiet branch. When my boyfriend and I were there, the whole restaurant was completely empty excluding the two of us and Superdog staffs.

Apart from hot dogs, they do serve burgers as well, but I went for the hot dog anyway. I got the Chili Dog (ala carte). It was rather normal, crispy hot dog skin, neither hard nor soft/fluffy bun with some chopped onions and chili on top. Nothing fantastic but edible.

Despite its popularity..... OK May 23, 2011

It is certainly not one of the best yogurts around despite its popularity, no harm trying though I'd still say. Perhaps it's just how Frolick carries themselves, its slogan and such.

My boyfriend got a Cup A of frozen blueberry yogurt, without toppings. It was rather good but not fantastic as though creamy and icy at first mouthful, the yogurt started to melt quite quickly after a while. It also gave the 'gelat' and 'thirsty' aftertaste.

Astons Specialities, but not so much of a speciality. I've tried way better Astons at the coffee shops' outlets.

I reckon the only reason why this outlet always has a never-ending queue, especially on weekends is because of its location being in town and the cheap prices for above average western food.

My boyfriend and I dined in here on a weekend, thankfully we were here early and only had to wait 20 minutes for our turn, I know it can actually take up more than an hour just for your turn to dine in, it's crazy.

I had a lemon lime chicken chop while my boyfriend had the NY strip loin steak. They were okay but I have tried better ones. The chicken was served at room temperature and my sides order arrived wrongly, I had asked for a garden veggie and french fries but was served the salad for the former instead. The staff service is relatively poor and slow as well, they gave me a grump look when I informed them about it and wanted a swap.

The NY strip loin steak doneness came as medium well instead of medium. I assume it’s the hectic non-stop crowd that caused the kitchen staff to be confused and always rushing, I do understand so I'm not complaining, just reviewing that I've tried way better Astons at the coffee shops' outlets.

piece of donut. OK May 23, 2011

I had a green tea glazed donut from J.Co Donuts & Coffee just right before lunch since I was starving and we were still waiting for some friends to arrive, so I thought a donut would be ideal to aid my hunger pangs before lunch.

The green tea dount was pretty alright, the donut was fresh and soft but donuts being donuts- fried, it was naturally rather oily. The green tea frosting was sweet and nice but honestly, nothing beyond average.

Il Gelato Di Bruno. OK May 22, 2011
Categories : Italian | European | Stall / Kiosk | Desserts and Cakes

My friends and I wanted some dessert after our dinner and since we were already at Citylink, we decided to give Il Gelato Di Bruno a shot. They were also having a 1-for-1 promotion. We had the smallest cup (but were still allowed to have 3 flavors in 1 cup), that cost $6 each but with the 1-for-1, that'd make it $3 each.

They have a rather wide variety of flavors. The eye-catching ones were like the Blue Sky and Bubblegum flavors because their physical appearance were just so pretty, really lovely pastel colors. However, what you see is not what you get, to me at least. Those flavors basically tasted like medicine.

In the end, I had a cup with vanila, rum n raisins and chocolate. Yummy but not fantastic. Ice-cream wasn't excactly fresh because I could taste bits of ice in the dairy.
